I have a lot to say about this woman's jacket. I bought a similar Milwaukee jacket about a year ago for my husband. He LOVES it. It's heavy. It's thick and protective. He swears by the zip out liner. He suggested I get the same. I did not want to, initially. I'm not 'œinto' the whole black leather biker chick look. I wanted something that said, I ride but I'm not a clone of my hubbie. I wanted my 'œown look.' So, I researched and eventually bought two other jackets. One blue leather, one brown leather. I prefer brown leather the most, but hey my favorite color is blue. So why not be 'œuntraditional?'. Unconventional colors say something different to me. More of a 'œI am my own woman and I want everything that his jacket has, but feminine and this represents me.' Well in the price range of his jacket there isn't cr@p out there. Just saying. I did not want flaming red, or pink. I do not need to scream, 'œI'm a woman, hear me roar.' I just wanted the same quality in something that was a bit more surprising because It's a beautiful jacket, but made to be on a Harley, make sense?
Okay, so my other two jackets they're from reputable motorcycle jacket companies, but they were basically fashion jackets. They were pretty and fit well, but the leather was thin, too soft and did not have zip out liners. They 'œlooked' like motorcycle jackets and according to my father in law who's 70 year old and been riding Harleys in an MC since his teens, they were 'œfine jackets.' I did not want 'œfine.' I wanted 'œeverything' that my hubbie's jacket had, but that had a style of my own. I was beyond frustrated!
Here comes this jacket. At first I felt pressured into making a decision between acquiescing my wishes and needing a jacket that performed. So I bought this. I felt a frustration of 'œgiving in.' It was cold night out in the garage and I wore my husband's Milwaukee jacket. It was WARM and cozy and I remembered al the reasons his jacket WAS what I was looking for. I just did not like the 'œlook.'
I gave in and bought this jacket. It was ALMOST EVERYTHING I wished for! I love it and it has some SURPRISING details I hadn't considered. First of all, the fit is perfect if you do the measurements and buy accordingly. I am a 14 but ordered a 2x because I want to wear a sweater or hoodie and not be restricted. It was THICK and heavy as a 'œreal' riding jacket should be. In fact, it was stiff and heavy but when it was snowing and in the 20s it became my favorite 'œwarm' jacket. The fit is spot on. However, my biggest complaint about all MC jackets was they are woman's versions of a guy's jacket. They are made to emphasize the 'œV' shape of a man and their shape makes woMen's hips stick out or doesn't provide any shape other than a 'œbox.' This isn't flattering to women. Period. Get more women in the design discussion meetings, just saying. However, THIS jacket surprised me! When I got it I was thinking, yes the other jackets are going back. Return label printing now. They are all wannabe MC jackets ? This jacket stands out as uniy!.
So what is wonderful about this jacket?
Well, the fit? Perfect. Heavy? Yes, It's just about as heavy as the hubbie's. He was jealous that mine had 'œdetailed 'œ eagles on all the buttons and mine had vents for warm weather that his did not. There are details that made mine special, but I wasn't still sold on being 'œhis twinsy.'
I have come to LOVE this jacket and here is why:
It has zippered sides that provide an hourglass figure when unzipped! Thank you for figuring this out! When I'm not riding it can give me what others are lacking. Unzip and hey I suddenly have a jacket that is feminine. I have a waist and hips.lovely! Unzipped they provide a subtle flair that says, hey I'm a girl in a boy's jacket. The velcro straps offer an option of sinching in the waist a bit more. This a versatile woman's jacket. It gives EVERYTHING we want and only leaves out a uniqueness that we're craving. Milwaukee. I want this!, and the PERFECTION of what you already do, but damn. Give girls some other options.I want as many options as the boys. I'm a professional and I want to look the part. Can't I be sexy and an an conundrum at the same time? I want to be confusing and sexy at the same time?i am in love with this jacket; but eh, you do not want a fucking eh In what girl's want? You are close almost there. R
This jacket is nearly perfection. Just give is girls some options. We do not all wanna be twins of our husband's twins. Some of us are unique enough to warrant our own design.
