Good but not great jacket

I received the jacket in good time. The quality of the jacket itself is pretty good. The fit is slightly tighter than expected, but not by much. I am 6' 2' and about 205 lbs, so I normally wear an xl jacket which generally gives me just a little room. This jacket is snug, but will still work fine. As expected the CE pads are not very good quality, so I will need to invest in some better pads. Most jackets come with not so great pads, so it was no surprise. The zippers are ok, they work fairly well with just a bit of roughness. The 'insulated' liner is thin, but works ok for the cool mornings. I would not want to go out on a ride with a temperature below about 55 degrees. The liner is only a vest, so the arms will get cold. The one real beef I have about the jacket is the rain liner. It was obviously an afterthought. The zipper on the rain liner is about 6' longer than the jacket. Odd. It looks weird, but it does seem to work, so its not a deal breaker. I haven't ridden in warmer temperatures yet as it is only March, but our afternoon temperatures are in the upper 70's to low 80's. The jacket looks like it will be good when it gets hot. I get the feeling from comparing this jacket to an Xelement jacket that I have that they are made in the same factory. Too many similarities to each other. Anyway, it's a good jacket, I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the rain liner weirdness, but overall I am happy with it.

As soon as I got

As soon as I got this jacket, I was removing the rain jacket liner and heading out for a ride. The jacket is fairly heavy, but is not uncomfortable. It's great to feel that you are wearing good quality protective clothing when riding and this jacke fits the bill. Armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back. I am also diggin' the concealed carry pockets for a small gun and mag.
