Byron R. from PUEBLO WEST, CO:
Purchased the "over pants" based on the ratings. I would not call these motorcycle pants, I would call these a rain/cooler temps/over pants. The fit is on the lose side, the armor isn't what I would expect for a level 3. The armor reminds me of football pants I had as a kid. If I compare the armor to what is in my Olympia jacket.....it's not even close. I'm 5-9 and the knee armor is too low. If you are short, you will have shin protection. The bottom of the pant is too lose, and there is not enough velcro/adjustments to get a good snug fit. I will have more velcro sewn in so I can get a snug fit and skip the bell bottom blues. There is no connectors of any kind to mate the pants to any jacket. The belt line is a little narrow and makes me question how long they will hold up in a skid. The vents....are not going to cut it. The two main ones are over the front of your legs. No wind is going to get in there, let alone make it through to the back vents. Aside from the nit picking, these are an awesome deal. If you are looking for cooler weather, wet weather over pant, then this is it. Improvements could be to tighten up the bottom legs, real armor, armor on the hips, larger belt line, connectors to a jacket, more vents. These are over pants.

At 5'9" and 155lbs the 34" waist fit are too big. I ride a Buell 1125r and the position of the armor is spot on. Pairs great with the CF-330 jacket. HEAT-OUT Base Layer Long Johns are a must for Atlanta in the Summer. The thigh vents do help a little. Great pair of value armor riding pants.

Been waiting for these to get re-stocked and ordered right away. They math my Xelement riding jacket which also has the level-3 armor. Now I will be ready for Autumn riding as they are a bit much for Spring & Summer riding. Craftsmanship & materials look to be quite good and am looking frwd to wearing them. My only negative observation is: are they supposed to have a zipper to attach to a jacket??? I say that because my Xelement jacket has a small horizontally mounted zipper zipper on the inside back.

I was over all very pleased with pants. The only problem I have with them is they are a little loose fitting from the knees down. Would have preferred them a little more tight to keep the knee pads in place better.

Great pants. They fit well (not over other pants, though) and feel good. If I had only one complaint, it would be that the leg cuffs cannot be cinched down or tightened slightly. Sometimes on cold mornings, it get cold air that travels up my lower legs. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase.

I wore the pants this morning and really like them. They kept me warm and hey they have a classie look. Their a little long, but I have a friend that can hem them up. I'll be doing about a three hundred mile ride this coming week and plan on wearing them

Had to spend 75 dollars to have these pants shortened. It's a big job to shorten these pants but it can be done .

Ron O. from Marietta, GA:
I am very impressed with these riding trousers (pants) the workmanship and material is top notch. Extremely durable, yet light. I am a 34 waist but am just a tad up so they are a bit snug in the waist but I need to shed a couple of pounds. I would say if you are a 32 and tight pushing up to 33'ish and can fit a 34 get a 34, for me I probably could have pushed a 36 but the length is perfect so I think 34 was good choice. I am 6'-0' tall. about 175 ish. These are great really very impressed. It is very refreshing to find a company that is selling quality gear.

Tom W. from ROSCOE, IL:
Nice pants for cutting the wind but not very water repellent due to the elastic panels in the knees and crotch. Would had hoped these riding pants would have serve me for wind, rain, and protection. But for the price I may be able to modify them to work in the rain. I have a 33 waist and the 36 worked over my jeans. Not real impressed with the knee pads. They tend to drift around too much.

I drive a Harley Vrod with a Vance and Hines 2:1 and the problem i'm having with these pants is they are not truly heat protected. Besides that they breathe really well for being down in Florida and I am happy with the purchase. Xelement does produce a good product for a cheap price.

Great fit and just the right length. The zipper should have been a little longer because it is a snug pull to get it pulled up over my butt. Rode for 4 hours today, very cumfortable. Have not been in any rain yet to test the waterproof feature. I like them!

Charlie R. from EL PRADO, NM:
Well, these pants fit the bill except for one major design flaw: There are mesh panels over the crotch and just above the knee. Needless to say, certain parts of one's anatomy get a bit chilled on brisk days. They are not waterproof, but they were not billed as such either. I will keep the pants, but will have my wife sew some cordura panels in to cover the mesh. On the plus side, they are long enough when riding to come to one's ankles, and everywhere else besides the the mesh parts, I am comfortably warm on a 40º day

Wish LeatherUp would read these reviews. They need to fix the knee pads, per the other reviews here. Otherwise, a great pair of pants.

Greg L. from BARTLETT, TN:
These were made well, just WAAAY too long to even try to use. I am only 5'7" and these were a good 8 inches too long. The knee protection ended up in the middle of my shins! I will need to look for pants at my local cycle shop to make sure I get a pant with the proper length. I exchanged the pants for a pair of boots so hopefully they will fit better than the pants.

Brad K. from Pleasantville, Somewhere:
As advertised, lighter weight for summer so prob not super protective. Wish knees were a little tighter or had a strap like at the waist for tightening the knee to keep the pads where you want them. Comfortable, no itchy velcro on your skin, a good value.

First off, very fast delivery. I gave these a 3 star due to the fact that I think the 32" inseeam is a little off, compaired to others I find the knee pads sitting on my thighs. They are not the most water resistant either. Now that I have knocked them, let me express the likes. Very comfortable, warm, pockets very nicely placed, elastics in right places, and over-all a great buy. Thank you LeatherUP.com

Elijah B. from SAINT DAVID, AZ:
These pants are good and bad at the same time. They are very nice looking and match the Xelement jacket very well. They are comfortable. I am 6'1" and about 155 pounds. I ordered the large. The length is perfect, the adjustable velcro waist fits over my pants or with no pants. I like how they have zipper vents. They are good summer pants.. a bit chilly willy at 40 degrees though. The knee armor sucks. They sit too far on the inside of my knees and too low. They move around a bit too much in their "pouches." I don't feel like they would protect my knees in a crash. I might try to get the knee pads moved where they are actually over my knees and sew them in place. The pockets suck as well. The first time i used the right pocket the zipper started to tear away. I wont use these pockets anymore at all.

Pants are of great quality. The only problem is getting the correct length. If I could hem the pants or shorten them about four inches, I would be happier with them (and could even wear them). Perhaps someone knows a way to shorten them?

Glen Ohlund from Hopkinton, NH:
I'm a big fan of Xelement gear. Seems to work well and have some design traits usually reserved for higher end stuff. Pants fit on over boots easily with the zip/button combo. I'm thinking about throwing a few stiches into the knee pad holder to keep the guards in proper place, but for now, a couple small safety pins are doing just fine. glen Hopkinton NH
