Love the jacket. Well done. Comfy. I ordered a XL instead of a L as some of reviews here suggested. Great idea. It fits just perfect. Love the colour. Easy doing business. Fast shipping.

Richard C. from DRIFTWOOD, TX:
I do like this jacket, however it is NOT waterproof. To advertise it as such is fraudulent. If you are riding in light rain for short periods you might be spared, but anything more than that and you WILL get wet. Also, the zippers can be problematic in that the fabric tends to get caught in them and it takes many tries sometimes to get the zippers up and down. Other than that, it's a good inexpensive jacket, and is actually quite good for winter riding. I've worn it many times with temps in the 30s and 40s (with layers underneath) and it does a good job of blocking out the cold wind. So overall I do recommend this product, just don't buy it expecting it to be waterproof.

Steve M. from CHICAGO, IL:
The jacket was just received and initially appears to be good quality product. XL size purchased I am 5' 11" and 195 lbs, fits well. I have purchased other Armored jackets from Leatherup and have mixed reviews. The all season textile is a good and warm jacket. The lighter summer textile jackets are not durable. I purchased this jacket to replace my lighter summer jacket from Leatherup, about a year old and in no falls but the durability is poor. Hoping this is a better quality than previous jacket. Overall the initial purchase looks like a good value.

If you are a larger type fellow that likes beer, or look like you like beer (with a "belt warmer" or "beer belly") and you have done all the measurements according to the size chart. Take that size and order two sizes larger. It will save you from having to send the jacket back to get the correct size. Outside of that however...I LOVE my jacket! On the cool mornings when I travel to work, it keeps the wind and cold out better than any jacket I have ever had. I get compliments everywhere I go on the jackets good look. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Very good quality jacket. I usually wear an xxl but ordered an xxxl fits very well. They do run small so i suggest getting one size bigger. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Its a really nice jacket I think. Summer, not so fun unless you really like to sweat. I live in FL so its almost hot year round. The only complaint I have is that the leather shoulders; one of the shoulders was scuffed up. Other than that. I'd buy it!

Boris R. from Jamaica, NY:
I am 5'8, 175 lbs with a 42 inch chest anda big belly. I went with the chart and got a medium. The jacket fit like a straight jacket. The zipper could close, but I could barely put my hands together and the jacket would have been unusable for comfortable riding. I immediately exchanged my medium for an extra large. The new jacket is a little too big, but if I use the removable lning and put a sweater underneath in the fall and winter, the jacket should fit. I love the style, especially putting reflective material in the striping scheme. The padding placement gives me confidence. The only thing that concerned me is the sweat I generate when riding in the summer. Some of my commute is on a highway so I prefer full padding. When I finish a daytime ride, my arms are wet and I am concerned with mildew developing inside the jacket. I have to put towels in the sleeves when I get home to soak up the perspiration from my arms. I can't easily turn the sleeves inside out to air out the jacket.I see now the pads are supposed to be removable so I will try that and turn the sleeves inside out for airing. The zippered vents on the sleeves do give a satisfying flow of fresh air while in motion, though.

I bought this for my sons birthday present. He loves it! I like the white on it and feel he may be easier seen and the reflective stripe helps at night. I am very pleased with this product and the price.

Anthony H. from HAMDEN, CT:
Alot of jacket for the money here. I live in Connecticut here and have been riding since about mid-March when the temps were hovering around 35-45 degrees (they have since heated up a bit). With the liner in the jacket kept me warm and even with the wind it doesn't cut through the jacket. I'm 5"7 and 195lbs and ordered an XL and it fit me well. My only issue is the collar is not wide enough for me to fasten the button without choking myself. Other wise I have zero issues with this great jacket.

Spencer L. from Corryton, TN:
I'm 6'1" 180 lbs with a thin athletic build. I wear a 16-34 slim dress shirt, 32" waist pants, and generally a Large in most jackets. After reading other reviews, I ordered the XL in this jacket and it was just plain too big. The shoulders and torso especially were too wide. Go with your gut...if you're like me and you waiver between medium and large in most clothes, then the Large will suit you just fine. Other than this exchange, I'm very satisfied for the price.

Joshua S. from NORTHRIDGE, CA:
I don't know what the rest of these reviewers got in the mail. What i got was a okay looking jacket, cheap "armor" which was just thin pads that don't seem like they could hold up if God forbid i fell off my bike, and if someone can find the "kevlar" in this jacket, it would be much appreciated. There were better jackets for this price range, and i was an idiot to think this one would be some sort of "miracle" jacket that had all the protection they claimed was in it.

RETURNED for REFUND. Well designed, good-looking jacket. 5'11" 235 lb. long-waisted-with-belly senior male ordered XL and it fit well enough to ride comfortably with the zip-in LINER REMOVED. Fit was acceptable and did NOT warrant a return. REASON(s) FOR RETURN: (1) Waist adjustment loop STRAPS on both bottom left and right sides SEPARATED from their sewn attachment points when firmly tugged on to make adjustment. (2) Main front ZIPPER was prone to JAMMING with light-weight material underneath. I'm sorry about this.

Jason K. from DRUMMOND IS, MI:
I am in the process of returning it. It is a beautiful jacket, great color, look, and feel to it. The deal breaker was the zipper was constantly getting stuck when going up or down. It most often was binding up on the interior fabric which is likely there as a rain/water barrier. I was going to live with it because the jacket is nice, but it will continually be a hassle every time i ride. I dont need that frustration. I am 6'2" tall, and 190 = XL fit me perfect The sleeves seemed 2 inches short when my arms were up in a riding position. I have long arms. I did not like the look of the sewn in elbow pads. I think it is a great jacket, just has a design flaw in the zipper area. I did not ride with the jacket, so take my review only as general info.

I'm a medium (not overweight) and a large fits best. Nice jacket but the zippers are eternally getting stuck. Insulation is good and works well for cooler weather. With the liner out does well up to about 85 degrees (then the mesh jackets are better). I do like this jacket inspite of the zippers.

Edmund E. from NEW MILFORD, NJ:
I've worn this only once and I am very happy with my purchase. The quality overall is much more than the whay I paid for, especially the leather part of the jacket. Part of my decision to buy this is the exterior adjustable elbow kevlar protection. I pull the velcro strap and it's in place, not sliding at all. I just have to remember to loosen it when I take the jacket off. Ventilation is not as good as I had hope for, but that too was in an earlier review. This is OK with me as I intend to use this mostly during the fall and if weather permits in the winter months as well. I tried it with the insulated lining of my ski jacket and it's perfect. I am 5'10" 205 lbs and I got an XXL. I've bought a few items from leatherup.com and so far everything is great. Keep it up.

Dannie P. from Hilliard, OH:
Glad I read reviews. Just got the jacket and except for some missed stitching on the inside pocket, it is a great buy. I normally wear a Large and based on the reviews, I ordered an XL and it is a perfect fit. The jacket actually looks better than in the ad. The back pad is a bit uncomfortable w/o the quilted liner. I may not have found the secret yet, but the back pad is not easily removable. There is only a small opening at the top and it doesn't look easy to remove the pad. That is the only thing keeping me from goingthis jacket a 5 star. For the price, itisa great buy!

I would normally wear a Medium, but Large fits perfectly. I'm 6'1'', 175 pounds. Jacket works well and is a bargain for the money. Venting could be better, but if you're moving it's adequate. I haven't had to ride in the rain, so I have no comment on how water proof it is. The fit is much better than some other armored jackets I've tried and it looks good on. I especially like the elbow straps which really are very comfortable while riding. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket!

Jacket is good the spine armor I think is a bit soft, foam pad. I don't think you could put a stiff spine brace in the pocket. The jacket is heavier then I was hoping for. I'm going to keep it for colder riding.

Delivery was quick. The jacket looks good and fits great. Do not put in the liner unless it is less than 60 degrees F. The ventilation helps some but this is a very warm jacket. The armor is very good. I practice a lot of tight maneuvers and the armor sure saves the elbows. :-)

Brian K. from PASADENA, CA:
Nice jacket at a great price for what you get. The added elbow kevlar is a bonus. I also have a pair of the Xelement pants that zip to the jacket which keep it from riding up. The velcro adjustments are abundant and allow you to cinch the jacket up at your wrists (plus zippers at the wrists), elbow and waist keeping it nicely snug all around. It gets a little warm at temps over 85, but not too bad and has several zippered vents and rear exhaust that work well. I've ridden in temps just below 50 without the liner and I'm still warm. I purchased the medium. I'm 5'10, 150lb 41" chest, 30" waist and the M fits very well.

I've had my jacket for nearly a month. The temperature has been in the low 40's in the morning. The jacket is very warm. In the afternoon when the temperatures rise, it is nice to be able to zip the liner out for a more comfortable ride. Looks great. Would but it again.

Bryan S. from PINE BLUFFS, WY:
I bought this over other Xelement jackets because of the BRIGHT reflective strip across the back, and I have not been disappointed! Safety is the main reason for buying any riding gear, and this jacket has many features that will cost you in other jackets. The level of padding in this jacket is great. The elbow pads are pretty stiff, but I would rather have that than flimsy ones that don't protect in the event of a crash. The ventilation is ok in this jacket, but it does stay pretty warm. I have stopped wearing it during the summer months for all but long highway rides. Also, if you have the vents all open you get somewhat of a sail effect, which makes your ride a little tougher. Overall I would highly recommend.

I'm 5'11 180 lbs, large fit perfect. Pictures don't do it justice. It has been HOT in Fontana CA, 80-97 F, perfect to test the two front zipper vents and large rear vent with inner jacket liner removed, works great at speed and as long I wasn't stopped to long. Pretty much what I expected, since it's a jacket being warn on a hot day! Vents work great! Hopefully I won't have to make use of the armor, but I am glad it's there. The zippers are easy to work wearing gloves and pokets are more than enough room for wallet, keys , large smart phone ... etc. The fabric and build quality is good, you would expect to pay a lot more for this jacket.

I found the jacket to be very confortable and user friendly. It is much better than I expected, and the price was outstanding. I've even had several people mention to me that they liked the look of my Xelement Jacket. I especially like the reflective tape when I'm riding at night. It stands out much better than my black leather jacket did, and it's much lighter in weight. My wife even liked it.

I am a pretty big fellow, this jacket didnt fit me as it tapers a bit from chest to belly. Looks and feels like a quality product, but just wont fit a large belly. I ordered a 5xl, I am 6'0" 340 lbs with a 50-52" inch waist and a bigger belly. I'm sure it wouldnt kill me to lose a bit but these jackets definately run small, as I can normally wear about anything in 4x.
