| Heavy duty construction - well made. Have not ridden in them yet as I am a beginning rider, but I know these boots will be great! I usually wear a size 9 so I ordered that size. The boots are roomy in the heel area, but fit snugly around my ankles and instep; there is plenty of toe room. By the way, it appears that the boots are steel-toed, which I did not know from reading the description. As for the looseness in the heel area, I don't think it will be a problem while riding - might be a benefit during cool weather as I'm hoping I can wear a heavier sock. | I originally bought size 8. I found that these boots run 1/2 size bigger than the shoes that I buy. The exchange to size 7 1/2 worked well. I still have a bit of room, but that is due to my somewhat narrow foot. I filled the void by adding a small oval piece of self sticking felt, just above the arches (this keeps the boot from slipping on my heels). For anyone interested, the top of the boots are 8" above the bottom of the foot. My leg measures 10 3/4" at that point, and I can still easily insert two fingers into the boot shaft - so there is plenty of leg room. They look great with jeans, too. Very well made - nice quality. |
