| These bags are very roomy. Have a nice look to them and are of good quality. For my big Yamaha Roadstar, I had to make adjustments for the mounting and didn't use the part that runs under the seat. I would expect them to stay completely dry on the road because they hardly took on any water at the car wash with a power sprayer going across them... |

| Bags are very sharp and nice looking and fit very well, however there are no tie downs on the side of the bags so they flap like humming birds. You need something to tie the bags to the side. I now have to make that modification myself. |

| I ordered these knowing I was gonna modify them. I have the Honda saddlebag mount that is to be used with Honda's $500.00 saddlebags. The Honda bags actually bolt to the mount in 4 places and it swings out if you need access to the wheel behind it. I think $500.00 is ridiculous for bags so I used pop-rivets to attach a 2" x 13" x 3/16" piece of aluminum across the inside top of the Xelement bag for stability. Then drilled the aluminum and attached it to the two top bolt holes on the Honda Saddlebag mount. It worked so well and was rigid enough I didn't use the two bottom bolts. The bags are well constructed and rigid enough to hold their shape. My only complaints are that (1) the snaps that hold the front and back of the lid down when closed are not lined up very well and (2) even though the quick release on the lid is lockable you can still unbuckle them and get them open. Not real well thought out. A pop-rivet solved that problem too. All in all, a great value at $70.00. I have seen other bags that are very similar and cost $3 - $400.00. So, you can't go wrong with these bags. I got a nice set of bags, spent about $80.00 and have about $320.00 left over to buy something else. |
