| Tight getting my foot in at first but broke in nicely. Good construction and durable so far. Love the shift protector becase I wore a spot in my old boots right there that annoyed me on long rides. It was like I could feel the shift peg inside my boot. Well no more! Easy adjust and nice fit for bigger men. |

| A bit narrow for my wide feet and very rigid, however thinner socks and a few hours later they already loosened up enough to be quite comfortable. Wouldn't walk far in them, but great riding.
Very good quality and fit (length), but the bottom of the heal was studded with nails that hadn't been driven in far enough, and, hadn't I noticed, I would have scratched my wooden floors. I took care of that, but a bit more quality control is needed. |

| My opinion of these boots is based on two things: my assumption that they would be "true to size" (which they definitely are NOT) and me being accustomed to having laced boots.
Pros:
- Aesthetically, these boots are fantastic. They look solid, stylish, and heavy-duty, and I've received plenty of compliments about them. Not too gaudy or aggressive for motorcycle boots, may fit many occasions, and still sleek and simple.
- Gear shifting with the stitched-in, top rubber area took all but 5 minutes to get used to, and is preferable to my old set from Big 5.
- Despite a few loose threads and the use of Velcro, they are very durable.
- Finally, as you can see, the heel is big and subtle. These boots will make you 2" taller, easily.
Cons:
- These boots do not fit true to size. I ordered a size 9.5 (I vary between 9.5 and 10) and I've poured a good $40 in Dr. Scholl's padding and Velcro just to get them to fit, increasing my height by another inch. I'd say go with a size/size.5 smaller than what you normally get.
- Without laces, they will fit differently. There is a zipper, a good-sized Velcro fastener on the back, and a Velcro strap that doesn't do much besides look cool. However, my ankles do run smaller than normal.
- Unfortunately, Leatherup's strict return policy prevented me from doing just that. Make sure to test wear them on carpet for a LONG time (1-2 hours), and do not be afraid to bite the bullet and send them back if you have to.
- They run heavy. Not the ideal type of boots that you would wear if you plan on working on your feet for more than a couple hours.
If you learn from my mistakes regarding returning and sizing, these boots can be a highly enjoyable, impressive looking 5-star investment, especially for $70. |

| These boots rock, I get compliments on them each time I wear them..perfect for the bike, no problems with the shifter. The run a bit narrow, but true to size, broke them in good after a week, feel like an old favorite pair of boots..almost forgot, check the heel, and drive the nails in a little further so the wife don't yell at you for scratching the floor..(not that it happened to me, I'm jus sayin')

| I bought a set of these boots four years ago from a local retailer for $100. They are a sturdy and very well engineered boot, and I've racked up many miles on them riding in all weather conditions. The tread on the sole is particularly well designed- nothing is worse than having no traction when you are trying to stablize over a thousand pounds of bike and passenger while stopped in gravel.
These boots are excellent in that regard.
I finally wore down the soles on my first pair, and despite the fact the leather uppers still looked great-- I figured it was time to shop around for a new set of boots (rather than resole). I looked at most of the major brand riding boots, and was not impressed. Even boots which were a LOT more money lacked the features of the Xelements.
The side zipper and velcro closures make these an easy boot to put on, and are as secure as a laceup. The reinforcement over the toe for the shifter is also a plus.
I've never submersed them, but theyve been many miles in wet weather- and always kept my feet dry. They also are comfortable and breathe a bit in warm weather.
I wear a size 13EEE in my street shoes, and did have reservations about width-- they seemed a little narrow for my feet at first. But once broken in, these are very comfortable.
I was glad to find them at this price. I'd also recommend Leatherup as a seller. Fast ship, with plenty of email notices- so I knew exactly when the boots would arrive.
I think I'll have my old pair resoled, just to have a set for back up. For the money, these are an incredible deal. |

| Well made boot.....Finding wide widths are a problem for me and this boot is not wide. I wear a 13 E or wider and would have ordered a 14 if it was available to over compensate for the lack of width. If you have a wide foot.....this we fit too snug in my opinion. |
