For both features and "build" quality, it's really hard to beat this jacket at more than twice the price. For example, you can get a Schott jacket model 626 for $590 (that's the current Schott website price), and, yes, that Schott is made of cow leather and this Xelement is buffalo leather, but the quality of this buffalo leather is excellent (the "finish" or the treatment on this buffalo leather is really good -- I suppose that's why they call it "premium" -- I really do like the quality of the leather in this jacket. It's tough as nails and rain beads up and falls off it like BB's, and it's actually comfortable right out of the box). Another thing is this Xelement jacket comes with gussets on the sleeves, where the zipper is -- that's something that I understand is not true with the Schott model 626. Yes, the Schott does have zippers on the sleeves, but apparently there aren't any gussets underneath those zippers, so the zippers are just ornaments (I don't own a Schott, I'm basing this on what a Schott customer who did buy this jacket reported about it on the Schott website). Another thing is the Schott 626 doesn't come with a removable liner, like this Xelement does. I've just been comparing this Xelement with one model of a Schott jacket, but I compared features with other manufacturers's jacekets also. For example, Hillside makes some really good jackets -- they've got what they call a Brown D Horsehide motorcycle jacket, which looks like a fine jacket indeed, although it costs $549.00 (that's their current website price), but despite the apparent quality of this jacket (at more than twice the price of this Xelement), it is not what I would consider a "classic" motorcycle jacket. For one thing, the zippers and the pockets and everything are all in odd places here and there on the front of that jacket. Basically, the bottom line is this: If you're looking for a classic, tough, hardworking, old-school motorcycle jacket, this will fill the bill and then some. Now, saying all that, I would add that this jacket is not perfect. No, no, no. For one thing, the zipper was really sticky, which meant I had to take a bar of soap and run it up and down that zipper a few times. Another thing is that on the belt of this jacket, the inside edges of the grommets are really rough. I mean it. Really rough. So you'll have to be careful about that when you put it on. Other than that, I can't think of one single negative thing to say about this jacket. So great job, Xelement. And great job, LeatherUp. Here's to you both.

This Jacket I s noting but excellent. I had to buy the biggest available, and it fit me perfect including the sleeve length with was my major concern. Great to wear and very warm on cold Texas days. I'd recommend this jacket to anyone. Way to go LU.

Very good quality, exceptional buy for the money, you could spend 5 times as much, or get more variety. I have exactly the same jacket, a $500 HD brand jacket I don't wear, I bought this jacket and matching chaps and vest for $219 on sale. As to material, this jacket and the HD brand have exactly the same heft on the hanger. if this traditional style is for you, you won't be disappointed in this jacket.

Great quality, fast shipping and fit how i hoped. If you like a roomy fit get a size larger but a tad snug is how i wear em' so the large fit perfect 6 feet 185lbs so sizing was spot on. Thanks again leatherup..

Here's my chance to add my accolades to the host of other satisfied customers. You can't beat these prices anywhere and don't let them fool you. This jacket is the exact same jacket I found in a motorcycle leather store for $200. It is a top notch, classy jacket that you can be proud to where around all your biker bros.

Beautiful jacket. Absolutely no complaints. The picture is a perfect representation of the look and you won't be disappointed about the quaility. There is one thing to remember, these jackets are small as compared to the norm. In my case, I'm 6"1" and weigh 240 lb's (ok, so I like a few beers now and then) and I ordered a 2XL which was way to small. (shoulders and sleeve length) I used the enclosed "return" form and re-ordered a 4XL. I live in Minnesota and the return process took 8 WORKING days "start to finish" and that's not bad since Leatherup is in California. I'm a happy camper and just waiting for the snow to melt so I can get out riding.

jacket is exactly as described, nice and heavy for weather and accidents. Seems to be very durable. Very happy with the customer service. I ordered on a Monday morning and received it on a Thursday using 2 day fed ex. You can track your product from the time they ship it without wondering when or where it is. I had an excellent experience, feel like I bought a good product and will shop here again. Hope this helps...Bill
