| These boots are a great buy for the price. I love the look of them. I ordered a 10.5 and I normally wear a 10.5/11. They are a little big and I probably could have ordered a 10 but they fit well enough with a thicker pair of socks so I didn'r return for a 10.5. Shipping was super fast and I will definitely buy from Leatherup again! |

| I waited until I've owned these boots for about six months before reviewing them. I can say that these boots were an excellent purchase and are as good as anything out there. I've literally worn these boots every day since I bought them. No kidding. I put them on in the morning and they don't come off of my feet again until evening when I go to bed. They are well-made, comfortable and seem to be indestructible. The only time they've come off my feet is when I put my running shoes on to go running and I think I wore a pair of dress shoes at a wedding. Otherwise, they're on my feet. In that time, with a lot of serious biking and just plain old daily commuting, the boots hold up, are warm in the cold and cool in the hot. Literally, I've never lived in a pair of boots or shoes before I had these. I also use them on my nearly daily bike rides where I put a lot of force between them and the pedal. I think I'll probably get at least another year or so or more out of these and they can probably be resoled. I tend to pronate, so the outer heels are showing wear, as with all my shoes, but it's really not so bad at all. I usually wear shoes out really fast because someone who pronates wears soles out so unevenly, but these babies are holding up. This is probably the least expensive pair of high quality boots you can buy. They're less than half the price of, say, Frye, but of course, Fryes (along with Chippewa) are the Harleys of boots. Nice if you can afford them, but you can do as well for less. These Xelements are great boots and a great value. |

| Before I start the review let me thank all the people who wrote the earlier reviews. They were very helpful in answering some of my questions, particularly which size to order. My two questions were the right size and which is the right sole type, flat or lugged. I normally wear a 10 1/2D and the 10 1/2's are a perfect fit to length and width. The body of the shoe is large, even with my high arches, and a double thick cloth sole insert works perfectly to make the fit snug without being tight. The lug soles make the boots a little heavier, but not noticeably so and not as heavy as a standard Vibram sole, and the lugs are composed of softer rubber that makes walking very comfortable. The soft lugs give great traction in mud and snow as well as cushion the foot while walking and standing. I have owned the boots for 1 month. I put them on the day they arrived and wore them for 10 hours, and every day since, without and pain or problems. As for the quality I have compared these boots to many costing 3 times as much and the quality is just as good. The finish is great without a blemish. I also like the orange colored safety sole.
Delivery was very quick only 4 days after I placed my order. I am very happy with these boots and plan on buying a second pair of Xelement boots. |
