went with a size 42 (I am a 38-40) as I wanted to use these as an overpant. Size worked out perfectly. Very comfortable and do well in blocking wind and rain. I am a M/C Commuter (to work) and there are very few days that I dont ride. Coldest day so far when I left home in the AM is 20 Deg. F and these pants over Fleece lined Jeans kept me warm the entire 40 - 45 minute ride to work @ GSParkway speeds of up to 85 MPH. Some stitching is fraying a little but I melt the nylon with a lighter and it seems to stop same. GREAT bang for the buck. At $59.95 I wont care if the only last a few winters. I'll just buy another pair.

Wish LeatherUp would read these reviews. They need to fix the knee pads, per the other reviews here. Otherwise, a great pair of pants.

Great pants for he price. Order two sizes up if you plan on wearing over other pans. Great set with the matching jacket. Warnining if you have short inseam, the knee pads wil be below the knee.

Everything about them is awesome except the knee pads. The pockets for the pads are a little too big letting the pad itself slip around. Other than that they are GREAT. Nice comfy fit ( buy a size bigger if you plan to wear more than your skiveys under them), Look to be highly water resistant (not tested yet), and are nice looking.

These pants are NICE. I ordered one size larger than normal (to fit over my jeans) and could have gone two sizes up, but they fit nice once I get them all the way on. Very comfortable. I got these to wear in the colder weather and they really make a difference. My legs stay warmer than they did with the leather chaps. Not very water repellent though. I got caught in the rain one day and my pants got soaked in the shin area ( from the pant cuff to just below the knee armor). Thinking about adding extra insulation in the legs, but overall I'm very happy with this purchase. As for the knee armor, my only complaint is that they set towards the inside of the knees a little, but not enough to be a nuisance. Goes nicely with my Black/Grey Tri-Tex jacket (#CF-330-Grey).

Pants are of great quality. The only problem is getting the correct length. If I could hem the pants or shorten them about four inches, I would be happier with them (and could even wear them). Perhaps someone knows a way to shorten them?

| I agree with Mark G., go two sizes up if you plan to wear these over your pants. The 38s I ordered wore like 36s so I believe they run small. Definitely go two sizes up to use these as overpants. Great quality though! Very impressive.

| I'm a big fan of Xelement gear. Seems to work well and have some design traits usually reserved for higher end stuff. Pants fit on over boots easily with the zip/button combo. I'm thinking about throwing a few stiches into the knee pad holder to keep the guards in proper place, but for now, a couple small safety pins are doing just fine.

I'm a new rider (first year) and wanted some leg gear. For the money, these are a great buy. I am using them as overpants - bought 1 size up and they fit well. Knee pads tend to shift around but can be easily fixed with a little modification. I wear them over jeans and wear the jeans over chilly pepper pants - ridden in 40 degree windy weather (DC area) for 2 hours per ride and was very warm! Used them about 6 times since purchasing. They have velcro at the leg bottoms to help get them over riding boots which is nice but a full leg zipper would make things easier. For the warmer weather - they have breathable fabric at the back of knees and crotch area plus have zippers to open vents on the legs...haven't ridden in warm weather yet but can tell that when open, they will flow well. Now that I've ridden with them, I can honestly say I prefer the extra protection they provide.

everything you would expect for the price. they do fit a little slim, though I'm wearing my normal size...just not a lot of extra room. a tall option would be wonderful, but I'm tall. I would ditch the knee inserts for a little extra ruff stuff inside the knees to prevent knee guard wear-thru but so far they're holding up with no problems. venting is great, pockets sufficient, good pants.
