Due to the characteristics of the helmet, it seems a little bulky in appearance than other helmets that do not have the modular system. However it doesn't weight any more than other helmets that I've tried on and the major reason I bought it was for the modular design features which are awesome if you ask me. I had no problem determining sizing due to shopping locally and finding out what sizes fit me the best. The helmet shipped in pristine condition and I didn't see any distortion problems with the flip down sun shield that other reviewers griped about. It's a nice feature which I'm sure to use frequently. I paid a great price due to the sale promotion and coupon redemption that was available to me. I couldn't have touched it purchasing locally and am very pleased with it's quality and the amount I forked out for it.....

Very nice helmet. I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews of it running tight and the sun visor being cheap and it disrupting vision. Yeah it is a little weird putting on at first, but you get used to the proper way pretty quick. The sun visor isn't really all that anoint imo. Yeah it doesn't have UV protection, but it does block the sun enough to where I dont have to wear my sunglasses and switch back and forth. Very nice helmet with a lot of cool features.

Helmet arrived timely. I followed the suggestions here for sizing and got one size larger, but had to exchange for the proper size. My head measure is 23.25" (23 1/4" to 23 1/2"
59/60cm... I typically do 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 hat size. This helmet chart says I should fit a large... and I do.
This is the second helmet I have purchased sized a little different than spec'ed due to reviewers comments. Both times I had to exchange for the charted size, so I think I will follow the charts from now on.
In my opinion, the deal is, helmet sizes are likely properly specified, however, they may fit snug or tight when you first get them due to the design and newness. A helmet *should* fit snug (almost tight) when you first get it - its going to break in and loosen up over time, and you do not want it moving around on your head, especially at high speeds. I have been riding about 40 years, and have bought a number of helmets, but this is my first time not purchasing in person at the store. Like I said, I think I will follow the charts from now on.
PS: if you have a wide jaw the helmet will (seem to) fit even tighter, but it should fit perfectly in time as it breaks in to your particular head, so do not be discouraged by that.
I love the design of this helmet. For a not-top-of-the-line helmet they did a pretty darn good job with it, and at a great price (and thank you LeatherUp!). Unfortunately I have not had opportunity to put it through its paces, so that review will have to wait. One thing I am curious to find out is if the vents function as expected... When you ride, a vacuum is formed behind your head, so I wonder how rear vents actually perform.
The one design feature I find lacking is that the inner sun shade visor is made of some cheap plastic, not polycarbonate, so it does not provide any UV protection. Also, the view is a little distorted looking thru it, which I find super annoying, and unacceptable. Certainly would not tolerate that in a pro-grade helmet.
To mention, I have not found *any* helmet with an inner visor that is advertised as being made of polycarbonate. (I searched high and low before deciding to go ahead and purchasing this one. And I was willing to pay more money, btw.)
Keep in mind that the clear shield is Polycarbonate, so that does have proper UV protection. What I did was order some UV film to apply to the inner shield so I can use it safely with the outer shield open/up if I want (though I cannot imagine not wearing sunglasses anyway - I always have). Don't yet know if that will create more visual issues - not had time to play with that yet.
The inner shield also 1) does not seem to come down quite far enough, though you can *pull* it down a little more following initial deployment. 2) But then you have a gap at the top of that inner shield ...that may introduce airflow.
All in all I don't think you will find another helmet with these features competing in (or close to) this price range. Hence, in spite of my nits so far, I give it 5 stars.
Lastly, one thing I complained to LeatherUp about was their packaging. They responded telling me they "forwarded this issue to the warehouse manager". The issue is lack of packaging *padding* of any kind (like paper, air baggies, peanuts)... in three shipments with them there never has been any, and the arriving (banged up at times) boxes have everything rattling around in there - big time.
In one I had a pair of sunglasses tossed in with other large boxes in the main box. The glasses were in no container of any kind, not even a plastic bag, just jossling about with the other items haphazardly banging against them during transit. The items were not packed tightly, and had lots of room to move, and potentially crush the glasses...
...not to mention *how much* movement potential was in there. In one carton, an boxed helmet (having no inner padding itself) could travel at least 8 inches within the main carton. Imagine if that was dropped, suddenly travelling 8 inches to the other side, against concrete or a sharp hard edge... There would be no way of knowing what that "smack" might have done to the helmet if it was not visibly cracked.
I have not had this problem with several of the other rider's vendors I buy from - I was a bit surprised to say the least. I will order from LeatherUp again - they have a great reputation, and they did respond to my complaint right away. But who knows what they will actually do about this at the warehouse. IF I see lack of proper protection for package contents again, I will never buy anything delicate like glasses or helmets from LeatherUp.

I used the tape and measured 22 1/2 or so inches. I normally wear a Large half Harley Helmet with leather curtain, so I ordered this helmet in Large good thing I did as it fits small.his helmet cuts down noise, wind burble, the inner shield is dark enough for me. Side view is excellent better than with sun glasses or goggles on. Well made good price . I highly recommend it.

Wow! Tight fit. Had to return it. If not for the size issue it would be five stars. I typically wear a size large, but I actually had a difficult time getting this one off of my head. Very solid construction though.

Great helmet for the money. The triple flip back option is great. Gets the helmet totally out of the way. Nice that the inside cushions come out to wash also. Not really crazy about the flip down sun visor. If you wear glasses things are a little distorted.

It's a good helmet I love the clarity of the display model, as advertised is easy to open even with gloves, fits very well but in the beginning is difficult inserting it.

Great helmet! My head measures about 24 inches but had to go larger to the XXL. Great ventilation, the flat black looks even better in person, great wide viewing angle and really comfortable. My only complaint is that one of the front vents keeps closing when riding above 60mph on the high way.

The best helmet! I have an HJC half helmet and this one. I don't know if I'll use my HJC now. This is exactly what is was looking for. Love the easy transition from full to 3/4. The sun visor is easy to access with gloves. I wear prescription glasses and the sun visor is exactly what I needed. During the hot days i removed the lower chin guard and the helmet allows plenty of air to circulate. If you are on the fence, as i was before this purchase, just get it...... You won't regret it.
