My boyfriend bought a new KLR-650 and decided to get this helmet and a jacket off of LeatherUp.com. The first day he wore this helmet & jacket, he was hit by the mail carrier out in the country. I believe they saved him...the jacket was not ripped, little dirty where he hit the ground..the helmet had some scratches on it around the left side of it where his head bounced off the ground. But he was released from the hospital 3 hours later and was walking with the help of a cane the next day. He had no cuts, scratches or abrasions on his head or upper torso. We will be buying another helmet soon along with a pair of boots and maybe pants. This purchase is a no brainer after that wreck!

I do not know much about hawk helmets, I did some research online and did not find much, on one board that came up it said that these are made by tony hawk's corp?
I bought this helmet because of the price and style and that it is D.O.T. there is something about the style that just grabed me and when I got it here I showed it to a friend that I ride with and he loved the style also.
The problems
when it arrived here the second visor was stuck in the down position but with a little work I got it unstuck.
The visor fogs up even with the vent open but it is not as bad as some helmets I have had I think with some anti-fog it should be ok.

I got this helmet about two months ago. It not exactly as good as I though it would be. I feel if I would ever hit my head on the ground the outer shell would most likely split in half. I recommend getting a helmet that is DOT and Snell approved. The dual visor is very helpful but it is not lined up correctly (the part that is supposed to be over my nose or aligned with it is next to my nose). So it very annoying and distracting. The vents do not work that good as well. Air does flow through but nowhere near to refreshing. The face shield is a little wavy and is very stiff and still wont loosen up. I DO NOT recommend this helmet unless your going to be riding something very underpowered like a 50cc motorcycle or something like that.

Helmet is light and fits well, but the visor switch broke off the first time I treid to move. was able to fix it, but I feel it will fall off again. I just hope it doesn't happen while I;m on the road.

two seconds out of the box and i break off the visor switch. to be fair, the visor had gotten stuck during shipping so, when i went to move it, it didn't. the visor stayed in place and the plastic switch fell to the floor. i have a feeling it will fall off again. otherwise, a good helmet. vents are extremely easy to use. visor does move smoothly if you can keep the switch attached. very decent product for the price.

This is a good looking helmet and that's the only good thing I can say about it. The button for the inner shield came off in my hand the first time I tried to lower it. When I put it on and lowered the shield it hit my glasses. ( The only reason I ordered this was for the inner shield. ) On the short ride I took, the outter visor fogged up at every stop and the inner was useless. It really seemed to be poorly made. I sent it back just this afternoon.

It's cheaply made but it is sturdy and light and feels secure. I don't have any problems with it. You might want to get one size down from what you usually wear, because it is a little large, otherwise it is fine.

I bought two of these helmets, one for me and one for my wife. really nice helmets very warm in the cold weather, the lens are easy to operate with gloves on, the sun sheild is really nice to, and very easy to move up and down with gloves on. The only complant i have is the outer sheild fogs up real bad but this is the first full face i ever owned so im going to try some antifogcream from rainx

It fits comfortably and the sun visor doesn't hit my glasses. It doesn't breathe very well and it fogs up really easily, but otherwise a great helmet.

Everything its advertised to be and just a little snug. If your looking for a loose fit its not the helmet for you.
