Timothy O. from Melbourne, FL:
Truly heavyweight. I usually wear 3xl and ordered 5xl. Found it to be a bit large, but will allow for a really thick sweater and shirt without being too snug to zip. Inside pockets are side load- not top load. Good for concealed carry of small pistol or revolver.

Alexander S. from Seattle, WA:
I bought this jacket to replace an old HD jacket I had that was showing its age and it was definitely worth it. Xelment tends to run slightly small, and with that in mind I ordered accordingly one size up from my usual. I have long arms and a shorter torso and this jacket fits perfectly for my body type. I was out of town when the jacket was delivered and when I returned the package was missing, I submitted a support ticket through leatherup describing the problem and received a call and a replacement order the following day - I cannot say enough about the speed and quality of the support team, excellent job guys. I will definitely order through these guys again. The only negatives I can say about the jacket itself are more of personal preference rather than defects, as the jacket is well made: 1: it would have been nice to have had a fabric collar insert or something as the leather is stiff and can chafe pretty badly until it breaks-in if you don't wear a high collared shirt. 2: The armor pads have quite a bit of wiggle room in their pockets and can shift around as you ride, as such it is hard to get them positioned comfortably - I have removed them. All in all a great, sturdy, stylish, jacket for the price. Would purchase again.

James O. from SHAWANO, WI:
Excellent touring jacket. Multi vents are nice. IMO this jacket is perfect for all but the hottest days as this is a very heavy jacket. Liner is removable but still quite warm on those hot days. I generally wear size large, but ordered a 2XL and it fits me perfectly. I am 5'8" 195 lbs. muscular build. Received in 5 working days. Thanks LeatherUp for a great product!

brendan h. from OAK HILL, OH:
Bottom line, this is a decent jacket for the price. The leather is thick and the full liner is very nice. Have worn this jacket on many cold rides and it kept me warm. The removable armor is also nice because I go back and forth between cruising and sport riding. Basically, if you want a heavy leather jacket to keep you warm and the wind off without spending several hundred dollars i recommend this jacket. However, if you expect quality for your money then I do not recommend this jacket. The fit is off. Definitely order at least 1 size larger, maybe 2. I am 6ft, 180lbs, 32in waist and ordered a large which is very snug. I wear a size 42 in racing leather jacket and this feels just slightly bigger. The sleeves go right to my wrists and the back rides up when I get on the bike so I can't stretch or lean too much without exposing myself. Also the second time wearing it, the snaps that hold the liner inside the arms ripped out and left holes in the interior of the jacket. So be delicate taking the jacket off. I think these jackets are put together really fast which can be seen through close inspection of the seams and stitching. There are defects in the leather and wobbling in the seam patterns. On my jacket this is very apparent when I attempted to use the concealed carry pocket and noticed the elastic holster was sewn in backwards making this feature useless. Like I said, if you want a jacket to keep you warm that looks fairly nice and you don't care about the features because it costs half the price then this is a good jacket. But if you care about quality and getting the best product for your money you may be disappointed.

I like EVERYTHING about this jacket. Looks great, feels great. I wanted a new jacket with armor and vents for warmer riding and this one has it all. Just be sure to order one size too large compared to what you might normally order.

Nathan R. from PRUNEDALE, CA:
I've had this jacket for a couple of weeks now and have worn it for a few hundred miles. It is breaking in very nicely. It feels great and is warm enough for me. The big outside zippered pockets are great. Mainly I want to tell you about sizing. I am 6'2" and 285 lbs. I ordered the 4XL and it is about right. If I needed to wear a heavy layer underneath the jacket to ride in 20 degrees it may be too tight. This jacket is very heavy leather. I'm hoping never to have to need it, but it does feel like great protection.

Great looking jacket! I haven't wore it riding yet, but I am looking forward to see how it performs. I took out the armor pads and the jacket fits very well now. My advise is to order 2 sizes larger than you normally wear. I usually wear XL and went 2XL. If I would have went 3XL I would have been fine also.

William B. from HENDERSONVLLE, NC:
For the most part, I am very happy with the jacket. I wear a 3XL so I ordered a 5XL and it fits perfectly. It's surprisingly heavy which I like very much and the stitching is good on the entire jacket. I found one small nick in the leather on the shoulder seam and the leather on a small panel on the sleeve had stretch marks. As you might expect, the entire jacket as quite stiff. I easily repaired the nick with a small drop of super glue and two coats of Leather Honey took care of the stretch marks and made the entire jacket more supple. It's a great jacket for the price and I expect to wear it for years to come.

James L. from CLINTON, WA:
I've had this jacket a week and a half and haven't made a full decision on it. I didn't wear it out of the house for a week to try to make sure what I thoght of it, thinking there was a good chance I'd return it. I'm still not sure. I don't know if I am happy with it or just putting up with its flaws and fit. Yes it's a great bargain. It's very heavy and thick and has armor, which is what I was after--better it than me. Yes the liner sleeve anchor snap attachments are a bad joke, one tearing all the way out, and the other tearing halfway out the first time I tried it on, with only a T shirt on. Arm length is as I wanted: slightly long for wrist coverage when extended. Sizing was a real problem based on the misleading sizing chart and the range of many owner comments. I'm 6' 1", 205#, 33" sleeve length, 46 reg or long suit coat, some but not much gut, riding is dual sport, heavy trail. I wanted to wear at least a heavy shirt under the jacket and maybe a light jacket over that. Comments said go two sizes larger which I did: 3X. The 3x feels like it isn't 3x or three times large, was simply given more belly room than the 2x, so the jacket isn't 3X so much as 3Fat. The chest is uncomfortably tight and the belly is too big, so wearing it doesn't feel very good, and it doesn't feel very good every time I put it on which doesn't really promote a sense that this coat is great. The gut/chest sizing mix is the first significant problem. Torso length is ok in the back. The second and larger problem is the combo of the mandarin collar, thick leather, vertical front sipper, and coat front length. The collar is very stiff and sharp. When standing up it's ok, but its a BIKE jacket so I'm often sitting. Sitting on the bike the jacket front is too long and the thick leather shoves the entire front upward pushing the sharp collar (even when unbuttoned and zipped down 4") up into Adams apple and lower chin....VERY uncomfortable and distracting and not at all good. The problem isn't any single thing but a combination of four causes. Two possible solutions (so I can keep the coat and not pay to send it back and risk the same kind of fit issues on a replacement) are to fold the bottom front of the zipped jacket up and under the lower front zipped end of the coat about 4" so the lower front doesn't touch legs when seated. But folding up your jacket just to swear it is really a lousy solution. The other is to fold both corners of the mandarin collar out and hold them rather flat like a shirt collar using with snaps or velcroed tabs to get them out of the way. This solves the neck discomfort but the jacket still pushes up and puffs out in front and looks silly. I've seriously looked at sending the jacket back, and at other Leather Up jackets that might solve these problems, but haven't found any. The classic biker jacket with diagonal zipper and regular collar would solve the neck problem but it has no armor. I think this jacket could be a perfect heavy leather armored jacket with a diagonal front zipper, regular collar, shortened jacket front with extended jacket rear for rear end protection, and zipper for pants attachment. I'm waiting to order the armored leather pants (out of stock now) because they coordidinate well with this jacket and have the same traits, and wonder why the zipper is missing. I know fitting to the individual is very difficult, but for now i would only give the coat a 4. I'd give it a 6 if the problems listed were solved.

Jess R. from HICKSVILLE, NY:
Love this jacket. I took out the liner and it'])s still warm enough for my morning commute (55-60F) and with the vents open, cool enough for the return trip (90-95F). The only thing I was worried about was the sizing chart. I normally wear a medium t-shirt, but my chest measures 40-42, not the 48 listed on the chart. I ordered a medium anyway, and it fits great. Maybe a little tight at the waist, but it has expandable stuff along the bottom, so it adjusts. I could probably gain 15lbs and it would still fit. I'm 5'9" 170lb. I know some people say to order a size or two up. My theory is the sizes are closer together than usual, so a medium fits a medium, but an xl jacket might not fit an xl person. Just a theory. The armor is comfortable, but I took it out for everyday use. It'll go back in for next week's cross country adventure. The leather took a few days to break in, but is quite nice now. This jacket is a great buy, but for the sake of balance, there are some minor negatives. One button backing pulled loose, but it was easily fixed by expanding the riveting with a nail. Also, it has so many pockets in the front, it's a bit bulky. I might remove some if I get inspired, but I love the easy access and organizational options. It's single stitched, but the work is quality and it seems very durable.

RYAN D. from Tustin, CA:
I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened up my package. This is a heavy duty jacket, and as other reviewers say...the vents do work. I ordered a size up as I usually wear medium. The large fit very well. The front access pockets are SUPER convenient as I don't have to unzip my jacket to get at my cell or vape. I like this jacket so much, I sometimes choose to wear it despite the hot weather. Comfy on hot days while moving, but gets toasty at lights. My arms do sometimes get a little sweaty, though. However, you just can't beat the price for a full thick leather jacket. Just wish there was back armor or a slit to insert one. Can't knock that though, I new that before purchase.

I have seen that many are rating the sizing of these products as such; order at least 2 sizes larger than you normally wear... I should have done this. Also the first thing that happened was the sleeve fastener on the liner came loose as soon as I took the item off. I don't have time to mess with sending it back and am overall satisfied with the product, though I ordered it much larger than I usually do and fit is tight etc.

Scott Anderson from FIRESTONE, CO:
I have had this jacket for three years. All the snaps and zippers still work just fine, despite putting 10K miles on the jacket. If you have a portly physique... lose weight! ... it can be snug around the middle. I ordered one in black, but the same size seemed like 3 sizes too small. I think mistakes were made, but I just returned it for a refund. I took the armor out for comfort. Fairly easy to take the pads out and put them back in. Same goes for the liner, which is usually out until the cooler weather comes. Then, this very heavy jacket will keep you pretty warm with the liner in. I just finished a 3,500 mile ride and this jacket is just perfect for keeping the wind off you and should prevent road rash effectively if you ever go down. This jacket is very heavy!! That's a good thing in my book. It's comfortable on the long ride, though. If you can get a good fit to your body, this jacket is of unbelievable quality at the Leatherup price! After three years of hard wear, I recommend it more highly than ever.

You will fall in love with this jacket! its a HEAVY and SOLID leather jacket that feels like it will definitely protect your skin. Sizing: I am 1.80cm and 80Kg and I have an athletic build (Wide shoulders and no beer belly) I normally wear Medium on American brands so listen to the comments and ordered Large (One size up), fits great, shoulders looks a bit wide but its probably because of the protection in there. This is not a fashion jacket anyways so I wasn't looking for the European tight leather jacket look. So I am very happy so far for my sizing choice. If you will wear this jacket with only T-shirt inside and like the tight jacket look then you might as well go with your true size. I think Medium would still fit me but I prefer the relaxed fit since will be riding with it. This jacket feels like a real leather jacket, its thick, its heavy and I love the leather smell. I probably wont wear this jacket for going out (without a moto) but definitely my favorite leather jacket and worth every penny. P.S: Looks a lot better in person, also the color here on the photos looks a bit dull, color of my jacket in person looks a lot better and richer. For the price I do not think you can find anything better then these jackets, sick look, sick feel. This is the type of jacket that you can pass onto your kids and stuff. Looking at the build quality pretty sure this Jacket will survive for many years to come. You wont be disappointed with this jacket...

I am 5'10" and 240 lbs. I ordered the 3xl. The sleeves could be 1" longer and the back length 2"longer. If you lean forward at all to reach the bars the back is pulling above your belt. The leather quality and features are great for the price. With my belly larger than my waist the 2xl would not have fit. Jim B. Green Bay, WI.

Vladimir S. from BOYDS, MD:
I ordered this jacket almost 2 years ago and have been riding in it (and snowboarding even) for near 2 years. I am ~170lb 5'11 and purchased the large. It's a bit big without the liner, but with the liner there's just enough room to fit a sweatshirt. The jacket is heavy and the leather is quite decent for the money; buttons and some of the stitching around the cuffs will deteriorate under frequent use. VERY IMPORTANT: these jackets are cheap because of the stiching quality. I went down at about 30-40mph and the elbow piece almost came off because the stiching ripped. The leather will save your skin, but in a high speed accident jacket parts will rip off. I suggest to look at other jackets on the site where the stiching is vertical down the sides of the jacket arms with no horizontal stiches across vulnerable areas- less chance of shearing. Also, the bottom of the jacket will ride right up as you're sliding and leave you with a nice little scar, but at least my arms are unscathed! All in all, solid street jackets under most conditions but do not go down at freeway speeds!

Roy W. from alabaster, AL:
This is the second Xelement jacket I have bought, both same size, large, will not buy another of this brand. First one way big in the shoulders, this one fits good except the sleeves are too long. I have worn it 2 times and I feel air coming in chest area maybe at the vent zippers, I live in the south, don't use the liner. One cuff is coming loose at the stiches, no problem since I am having the cuffs removed to get sleeves right length. It is a good looking jacket with several pockets but zipper pockets on the side are so small I can only get my fingers in too small for palms. Once the sleeves fit I think I will like it. I am 5' 10" 180 lbs with 33" sleeve length and 35" waist.

I bought this jacket last summer and didn't heed the advice of others about size. Sure enough it was too small. My next door neighbor and good friend loved it. It fit him like a glove and he bought it from me.. Nice huh.. Well I tried again this Christmas. Folks I got to tell you this is a Beast of a jacket. The leather is thick, heavy and just what you need for the thing you pray never happens. The stitching seems strong and needs to be because this leather is thick and heavy..Did I mention it's heavy. Bottom line this is exactly the jacket any serious rider NEEDS to own. plenty of pockets, venting and protection. No exposure at the neck line like so many other "fashion" conscious jacket designs have. Over all extremely happy with the purchase and can't wait to break it i so it fits my roundish form lol

I normally wear XL in most clothes and jackets. I ordered 2XL in this jacket based on previous experience. The jacket is snug with a shirt underneath and the liner. The leather is stiff as a board but should soften up with wear. All zipper work but wish they had a 2 way main sipper and zipper pulls. Overall, would buy again. Hope I never have to test the durability factor.

I can't see how anyone would give this jacket anything less than five stars. This was my first Leatherup purchase and I expected mediocre quality for the price. Boy was I surprised! I took the jacket out of the box, put it on and went for a quick ride. The good - the vents really do work! The bad...well...the armor in the elbows does bind a bit, and that takes this product's comfort level down a touch. But not so much that someone would say it's intollerable. The jacket is quite snug, I'm 5'10" and weigh 200 pounds (but I'm dieting, Honest!). Based on the sizing chart and other customer feedback I went with an XL and it works extremely well. Finally. This jacket is HEAVY. Make no mistake about that. If, however, you do dump your bike (G*d Forbid It Please), this jacket is going to do its job. So, will I buy more gear from Leatherup....well, based on their prices, service and the quality of this jacket...oh heck yes. You should too.

Well I hate to sound like a pariot. I will follow in the wording of the others who rated this jacket. 1. It is heavey. I ride a 1200 GSA with over sized windscreen and the vents on this jacket really do work. I can feel the cooler air going into the sleeve and all the way to my back. If you are a cruiser ride, its probabley even better. I saw a large brand name maker of leather R.R with same jacket for over $300 bucks. The snaps are tighter and over all fit is good. YES, YES order 2 sizes up. My Cortech jacket is a large, and this Xelement is a 2XL fits just right. Sleeve just a hair long but not a problem. Thanks Leatherup. I will be back.

Jacket is an excellent quality! The item came very quickly and the customer service was excellent. The quality and durability of the jacket is excellent as is the look and fit. The jacket is extremely heavy, like wearing chainmail, but that is the only drawback. When I saw the quality of the jacket, I promptly ordered a jacket for my girlfriend. I will definitely shop Xelement in the future!

My only complaint, which I guess is not a complaint if you read the other reviews is that I had to pay to ship it back for a larger size. I normally wear an XL T shirt, so I ordered a 2XL jacket. Had to return it for a 3XL, which fit great. While the sleeves are a little long, they are perfect when you flex your arms. Even with the return postage it was a great buy. I have purchased many items from Leatherup before. I will again.

A very good jacket, nice finish, stitching, good zippers, lots of greqat features and nice leather. The sizing might be a problem for you so order a couple sizes to large. I wear a Carhart 2XL-Tall shirt and ordered a 5XL after consulting the sizing chart. The 5X is a very snug fit for me. The sleeves are nice and long, and the vents are very effective. Lots of pockets.

I jusr received this jacket and I was concerned about getting the correct size, but it fit very nicely. As a woman rider it's been difficult to find a jacket that fits well and is also armored. I am about 145# and 5' 4" and have a broader shoulder size than most women so finding things that fit well and still look good is always difficult. The sleeves seem long for a regular jacket, but when I stretch out my arms like they are on my bike, they are perfect. This will be a great jacket.

Great jacket. Heavy, durable, and looks clean. I ordered the XL because that is what I normally wear and it was tight in the arms and chest. The return process was super easy and I exchanged for a 2XL. Couldn't be happier. Great customer service and the replacement took less than a week. The jacket has great storage room, the venting is fantastic, and the liner is super warm. I would recommend this jacket to all.

I love this jacket! got it fast too. xl fits like glove on my 5'13" 210lb frame. sleeve length perfect for riding. stayed super warm @50mph and 45 degrees. only bummer so far is I pulled the Velcro right off the liner trying to look at the armor which you cant even tell is there! easy fix though. super value . I'll be back!

What a great jacket! And can't complain about Leatherup's great prices and quick shipping. Jacket looks real good, fits great, and looks like it's made to last.

Great jacket for the price! Definitely has enough pockets. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 205 and the jacket fits great. I ordered an XL but it just depends on your size to determine what size jacket you need. Anyway, the level 3 armor you can leave in or take out of your jacket as well as the inside liner if you get to hot. Overall I would recommend this jacket to anyone and you won't be disappointed.

James D. from BONITA SPGS, FL:
Love this jacket. I am 5'10'; 190#; 34"-36" waist; 42R jacket; shirt size of 15.5, 32/33. I originally ordered a 2XL based on all the other reviews suggesting 2 sizes up. I usually wear wear a L (although I prefer the roominess of an XL). The 2XL was way too big in the sleeves, shoulders and body. Returned it for an XL which fits just right, although the sleeves are still a bit too long. Without the liner, there's a lot of foregiveness. Over the past few weeks I've worn the jacket both with and without the armor, and the fit is equally good either way; without armor provides, obviously, more flexibility although the armor is flexible itself. The zippers and snaps are metal appear to be well-made. Stitching is even and complete along the seams. Pockets are roomy. Even in summer riding in Florida, the venting is pretty good and provides decent airflow. I don't think you can find a better jacket for this price. And did I mention that its "Old School" looks are uniques and very cool. I am really, really pleased with this purchase.

I order this jacket last fall. It's a great jacket but I wish I would have gotten a Large. I'm 5'11", 190, 34" waist. It fits great with a sweatshirt underneath and the lining is easy to take in and out. I do feet the sleeves are a little long but at least I don't have any exposed skin when riding in the cold. Lots of pockets make for great storage. It is a nice looking jacket although the leather smell is a bit overpowering. I have a large in a different jacket from leatherup and its fits even better.

This is an awesome jacket! Great Vent system and good pockets. I am 6ft and 200 pounds, no gut and the XL fits just like a fitted jacket should. I did take out the armor and liner and the jacket fits perfect. Very nice for wearing out anywhere and perfect for riding in all weather. One of the nicest leather jackets I have ever owned. Very High Quality and Great Price.

I'm 6'3" and 280 -- I wear a 54 (2xl) in a bike jacket. (a loose fit). So I went for a 2xl. Oops, I could not get into it even after removing the liner and armor. Gave it to a relative who normally wears a large. It fit him nicely. "Size mislabeling" from what ever country it comes from is my only issue. The pictures do not do it justice - the jacket looks great. Am ordering another- this time a 4xl. I wish there was a shop in Chicago that has these, just to be sure of the size.

I found this web site for motor guys (what I`m not) and recommend to my friend overseas and he right away ordered leather jacket. Jacket is still with me but he saw on me when I put on and we chat on Skype with picture. He liked already even not touching, feeling or have it in hands. Because of him I will be returning customer to your store.

I am 6'3" and 270#. Fuller around the belly than the chest these days and a 4XL fit me nicely. If I lost about ten pounds I'd be able to wear an undershirt beneath a polo comfortably. I recommend at least 2 sizes higher than what you normally wear. Beyond the fit, it's an amazing jacket. Smells manly, looks cool, solid, sturdy feel. I meant to give it 5 stars but I miss hit it.
