Dan J. from TACOMA, WA:
I live in the Northwest. Ordered Jacket on Friday. Received on Monday. I am 5'8". 200 lbs with a 46" chest. The XL fits with and without the liners, and removing the back pad. If I had wanted to use the back pad. I would need a XXL. Great three season jacket for the NW. Outer mesh shell for hot summers. Water repellent layer for the rain we get up here. I won't be using the vest liner. I prefer thermals or a thin sweatshirt. There are plenty of buttons, snaps and zippers to hold it together but. I have found it easier to use the layers individually, as needed.

roy m. from Oak Lawn, IL:
This is another nice jacket I have purchased from LetherUp. I wanted a mesh jacket for warmer weather riding that had armor. This fits the bill. It also comes with a liner vest and an inner rain proof jacket . Both of those are removeable and for warmer weather you won't want them in the jacket. I usually take an XL but with this jacket and the two liners that was a little snug. So if you intend to use the liners get a size larger to be comfy. The outer mesh jacket alone has no inside pockets and I whish it did but you still have the side pockets. The rainproof inner jacket has nice pockets, one would be fine for concealed-carry. But all I really wanted was a mesh jacket that lets a lot of air flow through it and it has the shoulder, elbows and back armor to help you in a fall so it's doing the job. The price is very reasonable and the fit and finish is very good. It's a great summer jacket.

Ordered a 2XL according to the size chart and it was WAY to small. My chest measures 50 inches and I could barely get this jacket zipped. Sent it back to get a 3XL but they are O/S. Exchanged for a Joe Rocket 4.0 2XL as my other jacket is that brand and it has a correct size chart.

Pretty good, a little on the heavy side. The liners work but are a real pain to deal with, sleeves a little long and I wish they were tighter around the wrist. If I ever fall off I'll let you know how it goes. I'm 5'8'' about 185lbs 36" waist got the LARGE, medium wouldn't have worked with the liners.

Michael C. from Pleasantville, Somewhere:
Great jacket - definitely order 1 size up, I normally take an XL and went with 2X - the sleeves were a bit long but not a big deal. Fit is great, liners work well riding on 40-50 degree mornings, wouldn't recommend for super cold rides just enough to keep the chill off. Also has great airflow on hotter days. If I had one con it would be the way the liners attach but I usually just wear as separate layers as opposed to attaching them to the shell.

Daniel M. from Bonney Lake, WA:
I ordered one size up, XL and had to exchange it for a large. So, size chart is accurate for me. I bought this jacket for the waterproof aspect. First ride in it was in a heavy downpour. I stayed dry. My arms got cold because the quilted liner is only a vest and doesn't go down the sleeves. Because the outer shell isn't waterproof or resistant, water wicked down the sleeves and into my gloves a bit. The linings are a bit awkward because they're snapped in and feel loose. Might improve with wear as the jacket fits to me better. Overall, this jacket seems well made and has a comfortable fit.

I am very happy with this jacket. I wore it for the first time in 90 degree weather and it performed as expected. It kept the sun off of me while still keeping me cool. I thought because it was a black jacket I would be roasting, but quite the contrary. Even when the temperature got to 94 degrees and I was not moving and just sitting there at time, I was comfortable.

love the jacket...Once again the sizing chart was off. According to the chart, I'd be a small. I knew better and ordered the medium. OPPs still to small. The large fit just right. I'd like to sew a patch on the back but there is no way to get under the armor sleeve. Over all a great jacket.

Great looking and functional jacket. I wanted a jacket for all seasons. I like the design with zip out liners. When I first ordered, I ordered a medium following the sizing chart. I had to send back for a x-large. The return was prompt and easy. I am 5' 7", 160#, 44" chest, 32" waist. This jacket fits perfect. It is about 1/3 the weight of my leather jacket and much more comfortable. Great buy for the price.

I am 5'11", 165lbs with a 40 inch chest and ordered a large. With all the layers on, this jacket fit perfectly, but with all of the layers off, it was kind of on the large side. It does work awesome as a summer jacket though. The airflow is amazing and the jacket is pretty durable. It is definitely a nice choice when you want to stay cool during summer, but are looking for more coverage and protection.

As suggested by others I purchased 1 size larger. A perfect fit. This is my 2nd Xelement jacket as I was very satisfied with my first. It, however, got tested, and while it did a great job protecting me it did sustain a small scuffed area, leading to a replacement. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great mesh jacket at a very affordable price.

Daniel K. from FREMONT, CA:
I really like this jacket. In my opinion is probably as close as you can get to an all purpose jacket with all the layers to fine tune depending on the weather. I have been good down to 40 degrees and if it gets below that putting my rain suit on over it should give me another 10-15 degrees. I am 5'9" and 180 pounds with a 42 inch chest so listened to the reviews and ordered an XL (normally I am a L). While it fit me well enough thru the upper body, the waist was too big and the sleeve opening too big and not adjustable. Ordered the L , and fits perfect, waist adjusts tight like i like it and sleeve openings are just right. Neck enclosure is nice and snug and comfortable. My recommendation for fit is you like it snug (like I do) and don't plan on wearing any more than a sweater thickness garment under it, then order you normal size. If you want to wear a thicker garment under it or just like a baggier fit then order at least one size up. It has armour on the shoulders and elbows with back padding which should give pretty good protection with most but the worse drops, hopefully i don't have to find out. Lastly i get alot of compliments from people, mostly other bikers and a couple of my buddies are thinking about getting the same jacket. If i flop with this one and ruin it l will probably get the exact same one.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU ORDER.... You MUST order a Size bigger... again ORDER at least A SIZE BIGGER!!! I am a 160 lbs 5'7" (slim body type) and I made the mistake of ordering according to the chart and the result was a very snug fit... way to tight. If you are looking at this review is because you are looking for a jacket that can do it all... Ok this is the right one but you need extra room for other layers. Therefore is imperative you order a size bigger. Save your self the money to pay the shipping back and to wait to get your money back. I am no complaining about the store... is just what the process is. So... I just received my jacket... looks like can do a really good job. If this website allow me to update my review ..then I will do it later. Hope you listen my advice and the advice of many many others in this review section and order a size bigger.... Ride safe... TRAIN ... never stop learning

Jacket fits great. I really like the ventilation it gives on hot days. Both liners are very well designed and easy to install. Would prefer snaps instead of buttons to hold the liners in the sleeve but still a good design. Take everyones advice and order 1 size larger than the chart lists.

Excellent all weather jacket. Received it today. Temp was 90 degrees in Pittsburgh. Removed the quilt lining and the waterproof lining and wore the mesh jacket w/ armor and was comfortable. Mesh lets the air in. I've been looking for this jacket for 2 years. Order one size larger.

Great jacket!! My first riding jacket but really love the versatility. I'm a person that tends to be more warm than most people so this jacket works great without the liners on cool evenings. The added liner has also worked greatly on more brisk days. Not uncomfortable at all. I normally take an XL and bought the XL and with the added liners fits a little snug but I'm ok with that. Without the liners, fits perfect. Thank you!!

This is a great Jacket. I am so glad I purchased it. The three different linings make it very useful in different times of the day. Starting a ride in the early morning when it is chilly with all three linings in it and then take them out as the day warms up. Easy enough to stuff them in a saddlebag. I did order an extra size larger and glad I did. You will love this jacket.

Love this jacket. Used the sizing chart and ended with a perfect fit. Removable liners make this jacket a very versital all season riding jacket (Deep South Alabama). Has a dual inner-liner; one is a water resistant shell, the second is quilted liner. Might not recommend for extreme cold riding conditions.

Very good jacket for the price. Highly recommended. Armors are very comfortable and yet feel much better protected than other regular CE approved. The jacket itself (outer most layer) is mesh webbing which offers very good ventilation. The second layer is water proof and third is liner, both are removable. All together, the jacket feels very warm and fits snug with the correct sizing or SMALLER. However, it's not windproof so you will feel chilly during cold weather.

I bought this jacket thinking that with so many good reviews, I couldnt go wrong. The jacket is awesome. Here is Texas its in the 30's and I'm quite comfortable with this jacket on. One thing I will mention is I'm glad I listened to myself about not going a size larger than usual because I didnt. I'm 5'8 and have a little gut and ordered a large and I still have room for a sweatshirt and more gut with this jacket. If you measure yourself beforehand and use the chart then the jacket will fit. I will probably buy this jacket again and will most certainly tell everyone where to shop!

This is not a bad jacket, but I would probably not buy again due to the complexity of the thing. Three liners is just too many zippers to fool with. The jacket is nice for summer with all the liners out. Air flow is pretty good and it's not a bad looking jacket.

Love the versatility! Breathable and air flowing mesh (without liners) for the summer. Zip in waterproof liner for wet weather. Another zip in thermal liner for colder weather. Here in Alabama I'm sure I'll be able to wear this jacket year around. Per the ratings here I ordered one size bigger and that is right on, especially once both the liners are in the jacket. I think it looks great too!

This is a Great jacket for warmer wheather and cool wheather but get a size up i am a 50 the 2XL fits but would be much better if i would have gotten the 3XL so i could have put on a warmer shirt/jacket on under. the mesh works great to let the wind rush through and has the protection in the mesh layer and also protects you from to much sun like from that sunburn no one wants. I feel very safe in this jacket and stay cool in Hot wheather. I don't know how it is in the rain but i don't think it would be very good because it has no hood if you want rain protection get a rain suit it will prob. hold out a light rain some the inner layer is nylon. I really like it for the Hot sunny days i hate getting sun burned and i want the protection incase of a reck or flying hard things that hurt and could cause you to lose foucse on your riding and have dier results. The retro reflecting pin strip works very good at night that is a must have thing for me. the ziper pockets are good too so you can keep your stuff with you so relax you zippered you stuff up it will still be their when you stop. This is a Great Jacket when i get the money i will be getting that 3XL.

This jacket has a good design for riding and adds pectoral girth. I enjoy how water resistant the jacket is and how well it is designed for dealing with excessive wind. The zippers are on the cheaper side in my opinion and unteeth a little to easily. The armour is nice just note that there is no armour on the direct side of your lower arm.

Theresa O. from HEBER SPRINGS, AR:
I bought this jacket for my husband and have been waiting until he had to ride in the rain for the first time before leaving a review. He loves the jacket and wears it every time he goes on the motorcycle. Today he wore it in the rain for about a 15min ride and it kept him nice and dry. The only thing that got wet was the "dry pocket" inside the front zipper. This was tested by placing a dry paper towel in each pocket instead of testing it with your cell phone. The paper towel from the hand pockets stayed dry. The paper towel in the pocket inside the zipper was soaked. I ordered an XL for him but he wears a L and it fits perfect. Thankfully he has not wrecked so I can't comment on the durability and protection offered, but it seems really well built and the pads are all in the right places without making the jacket look bulky. As for the liners, it seems like someone might have dropped the ball on the design or maybe the one I bought was just put together a little wrong, but there are snaps that have no apparent function, and it seems that whoever made it put all male ended snaps both on the jacket and liners. The little loops inside the sleeves that hold the wind/rain liner is way too weak and broke when pulling his arm out the first time. I would still recommend this jacket. The zippers that hold the liners in are really all that is needed and do a fine job without the snaps.

Great jacket, I like the light weight and surprising quality. Its not bulky like the other brands and actually fits like a non padded jacket. I am 5-10, 165lbs and the medium fits perfectly. I read about everyone else ordering a size larger and did the same. When the large arrived it was way too big and I had to return it for the medium. I'm not sure about the sizing problems with the other reviews but the jackets look pretty true to their sizing chart. Leatherup was easy to deal with and the shipping was fast, even by Hawaii standards. Great service and a great jacket. I will definately order from here again.

This is my first bike jacket. I was impressed by the reviews and felt safe with the return policy. Thanks to previous reviews I bought up one size as the other reviews suggested. I am 6'4" and 200lbs. I usually wear large daily clothes so I bought this in XL and it fits great. With all layers it works well. With only the outer armor mesh its a little big though. But it works better so I can wear a hoody or something warm underneath in the winter. I just rode it in 45degrees and stayed warm.... except every other part of my body. I ordered this tuesday at 10pm, it shipped the next morning and arrived early Saturday morning. Fantastic how fast i arrived for FREE shipping. Well done leatherup.com. I would recommend this item and website to others.

Awesome jacket. Great fit. Took advice of some of the posters and got jacket 2 sizes larger than I normally purchase for a jacket. Made for a great fit at the waist and the sleeves while wearing a hooded sweater underneath. Three linings makes for perfect winter wear while being able to adjust for ventilation. Lots of pockets to store phone, wallet, combs, et cetera. There are different ways to adjust the fit on the arms and at the waist. Good glow in the dark for night time riding. Also love the armor pieces and the overall comfort for a great price.

Definately order a size up. I'm glad everyone takes the time to put that in the reviews. The jacket is very nice, especially for the price. Without the liners in I found it very comfortable and the mesh lets air move around very well. Took a ride the other morning at 35 F with the liners in and a long sleeve tee underneath and never got cold. I am very happy with this product so far.

My first jacket, and after reading some of the other reviews, I went for it, wore it to the MSF, and got a great feel for it. Fits great and has nice ventilation and sits nice and warm. I took the waterproof lining out, just because it was slightly too hot, but hopefully if I get my bike soon, it's easy enough to put back in, then I'll be set for if it starts sprinkling or raining. Fits good, I'm 5'9 and a good 175lbs lean.

This is my first motorcycle jacket and I really do like it. It looks great, the reflective piping is very noticable and it is pretty comfortable. So far I have ridden in it with the liners out up to 90 degrees and it vents well as well as down to 45 degrees with the liners in and a lightweight sweater and it was fairly warm. It does seem versitile through the seasons. As far as sizing, I am generally a Medium for shirts, though I ordered a Large for this jacket based on some of the other reviews. It may be a little loose with the liners out, however, I prefer that because I can layer more underneith in the cold.
