Nemanja L. from ORLAND PARK, IL:
I've had this jacket for years now and i am very happy with it. It is a little on the larger size for the chart so maybe order your regular size. I am 6'2 and 190lbs and got a XL, should have gotten L. Finish is good, great for all season riding (l've worn it during the winter as well) waterproof liner works fine but will not keep you 100% dry. Great starter jacket.

David H. from LANSDOWNE, PA:
The jacket felt of very high quality and was very good looking. The problem is, I wear a 3XL, I ordered a 4XL. The jacket came with a 4XL tag on it but it didn't come close to fitting. This jacket is an XL at best. Now I have to return it at a cost to me of more than $20 UPS. I can't trust that I will get a jacket that fits, so I won't be ordering any more items from this product line.

Jacket fits perfect! took reviewers advice and went a size up and it was a smart move. The jacket is comfortable and has good protection in all the right places. The 3 way lining offers warmth in winter and can be removed to allow for more warmer weather rides but still with the required protection the outer shell offers.

Loren S. from Dillsburg, PA:
For the money, this was a good value. I did not read description close enough and was disappointed when I found it had only a vest liner with a full waterproof liner. Cuffs can not be closed tight on wrist, but I think and added snap will fix that. Breathes as well as my old Tour Master. Wanted the CE armor, so that is a big plus. Would like another inch or two in length, but looks good. Could do without the orange logos on the shoulders. Zippers seem chintzy. Would prefer the inside pockets to be in between the velcro and the zipper as opposed to under the zipper. Have not had a chance to test for the fall and early winter riding. To get a better jacket though you need to spend another $50-100 at least.

I'm tall: 6'3". I weigh 220 lbs. I ordered a 2XL and it was shipped and arrived quickly but it was too small. I returned it the next day and it took a month to get a 4XL back. It fits.

34 degree ride (45 minutes), and I stayed warm. Fit is true to size, so no need to order up. Sleeves are long, but when put over gloves, they are perfect. Great bang for the buck.

doug mercer from Palm Coast, FL:
My experiences with Xelement jackets from Leatherup have been good news and disappointing news. They are always an excellent value with lots of features, but their sizing is so unpredictable, it may take you several tries to find one that fits--and then again, you may have to give it up and go to a store where you can try on each jacket. A few years ago, I ordered a very nice leather jacket in my normal size and it fit fine. This most recent attempt to find a textile motorcycle jacket ended in failure after several tries. I followed all the advice from reviewers on another style Xelement textile motorcycle jacket and ordered a 2XL, when I usually wear a Large or XL in most every other kind of menswear. (I'm 6', 195 lbs. w/o beer gut.) Even in the bigger size, I still found that parts of it were too big and other parts were pretty snug. I returned it and ordered again. My next order of 2 jackets included this one in a size XL. It was very impressive, but has some problems: it's very heavy and cumbersome--I felt like an astronaut getting into and out of my space suit. It's also tight in the chest, loose in the stomach, and short in the length, and the sleeves were baggy at the wrists, and have no straps to tighten them. With the rain liner inside, it would quickly produce sauna conditions. It had a few other little quirks or oddities with design features that were annoying, but not necessarily deal breakers: the sleeves need velcro at the wrist and the so-called leather trim is actually thin vinyl, which would likely come apart long before the rest of the jacket. And the back of the jacket is on the short side and could cause you some unwanted buttcrack ventilation. This is a great value with a lot of features for the money, but it just wouldn't work for me in the size and fit department. If you're patient and willing to risk some shipping expenses to return a jacket or two, you could wind up with a good fit on a nice jacket at a very moderate price. Good luck!

As far as keeping my warm and dry it's great. Other than that it's cheaply sewn together and not very nice looking. The durability is close to nothing seeing as I've had it for a week and half of the stitching is already ripped or fallen apart.

David G. from EASTON, PA:
This jacket is comfortable to wear well made. Have not had an opportunity to ride in it yet (still snow on there ground here) but based my experience with it thus far, I'm sure it will be fine. Note on fit. This jacket does run small but not as small as some of the reviews indicate. One size up will yield a snug but comfortable fit (like you see in the illustration) which is what you want in an armored coat. Remember that you want the armor to be whee it is supposed to be when you need it. A loose fit will have the pads floating all over when you are not wearing that extra layer you had to have to stay warm. Will update once riding season begins in earnest.

Good jacket for the price, unfortunately did not work for me. I am 6'-2'' and the jacket was short for my torso. I wear a 3x and ordered the 5x and was to small. Sent it back to Leather UP via UPS. They have received it two weeks ago yet have not notified me or credited my account.

Great jacket for price. I was wearing jacket alone and it turned cold at night during a long ride. I had the water proof liner in the saddle bag and put it on. No air through and I was toasty the rest of the way home. Don't be afraid of tbd sizing. I wear an XXL but ordered as advised a XXXXL. Perfect fit!!

Haven't used it in the rain yet but great value for the price. Its not a $300 jacket so don't expect one. It fits my large shoulders and chest. The outside looks nice. The feelk of the multiple liners is odd and kind of slick since they are button in not zip in. Good value for the money and no complaints.

This is a great jacket. Yes you do have to order a size larger. The inside liner is really warm.. I actually took it out so I can wear my hoodie instead. This is a very warm jacket. It feels like it has very good protection and it does have very good wind resistance.... It is easily a great deal

Enoch H. from SAN ANTONIO, TX:
To be honest, this jacket is better than my Cortech, and that one cost about $270 a few years back. The front zipper config takes some time to get used to (you have the first zipper and velcro flap, then 2nd outer zipper and zelcro, BUT the zippers to remove the liners are also there, kinda confusing). I ordered a Large even thought the measurements said I should get the Medium, glad I did. Perfect for a layer or 2 underneath. Rode through rain, didn't get wet, on the contrary even on real cold mornings, this jacket paired with my fleece undercoat and I'm sweating! 28 degrees at 70-80 mph for 45 miles to get to work, the windchill alone is around 5 degrees. Neck is also a little tight for any neck gators, I can't completely zip up the jacket, but the veclro holds real nice.

This jacket is as warm as the reviews say it is. I went on a 150 mile ride on a cloudy damp 40 degree day and stayed warm the whole time. Order one size larger as the extra vest and linings make it smaller. I love the snug fit.

I haven't had a chance to wear this jacket on the bike yet or test it in the rain. It does look like it is made well and can take some punishment. I ordered a size up from my normal XL and it fits great. I have had many jackets over the years and for the money this one seems as good as any. A waterproof jacket with armor is the best of both worlds.

For the money, this is a good buy. It fits well. The three layers are good, but hard to put together. The arm straps are very cheap, and all broke within a few days. Not really a big deal but would be nice if they were made better. Kept me warm in upper 40's. Overall a good deal for the money

This jacket nails it! I took it for a test ride yesterday on my 1 hr. commute to work, 80 deg.F and 80% humidity on the way in and 65% chance of rain for return trip it was a perfect day for a test. Well many reviews indicated that the size ran small; I did find it snug with both the thermal and rain liners in, but I consider these for separate seasonal use, and with either liner alone, it fit me like a glove. I'm riding a Kawi Versys '08 w/a larger aftermarket wind shield. At 65 mph, with the rain liner in, it was a bit warm until I opened all (2 front/2 rear) vents, then it was fine. On the way home the weatherman did not dissapoint - I got soaked with a hard rain for about 10 minutes. I left the vents open but zipped up the front - the temperature was still comfortable, and my phone in my fest pocket stayed bone dry as did the rest of my torso. After the rain, the sun came out and by the time I got home 15 minutes later, the jacket was dry except for a slight dampness to the leather (faux-leather?) shoulder pads. The jacket is light and the pads are hard foam (not hard plastic). If there's a critique I think they probably went a little overboard on all the folds, velcro and zippers in front, you could probably go skin diving in the arctic with this thing - just kidding, they obviously took the seal seriously. Great buy, can't beat the price, good for sport, and touring.

Nice Jacket. Fits great without all the extra layers. would have ordered larger for cold weather riding. Does not let as much air in as I was hoping for in warm weather, it heats up, but the padding is great and allows some peace of mind on the highway for "just in case" scenarios. Great price.

Jacket does run small. I normally wear 3x shirts and needed a 4x jacket. Without all the liners it fits ok but with them it's a bit snug. Other than the size it has been awesome. I've already crashed while wearing it and it saved me from a good amount of road rash, and really didn't take a whole lot of damage itself. Happy so far.

The coat was delivered today and I barely stopped to take out the thermal lining before I went for a ride. Really excellent quality, armor everywhere, looks badass, and very comfy. You definitely want to take out both liners on warm days, though. Even at highway speed you'll sweat in it. Believe what others say about ordering a size bigger. I wear an XL, ordered this in XXL, and it fits perfectly on the bike. Hell of a deal for $90 if you ask me. Of course, I hope I never have to test out the armor and the sliding qualities of the coat but I'll let you know if I do.

I can confirm what others have posted regarding sizes...order at LEAST 2 sizes bigger. I am 6' 1", 260lbs, 38" waist. I ordered a 4X and it is perfect, although a little tight with all the inner liners still in. With the liners out it is perfect!! Feels great, and fits well. I am sure if I lay my Softail down it will give me protection in the places it advertises. Great jacket!

This is one great jacket! A liner to keep you warm, a water proof liner or you can take them both out and wear the jacket without them. I am 5'9" and weigh 145 pounds and I wear a small everything which is what I ordered and it is "almost" to small. I strongly suggest that you order one size up from what you normally wear. I am very pleased with the quality of this jacket.

Steven B. from , :
The jacket is very good and seems well made for the price. I have made four 120 mile rides in 30F weather. The jacket kept the wind off and me comfortable. With just one liner it works very well 40-60F temp range. All the liners out and vents open it has good airflow and is comfortable into.the mid 80's F. Above that and it begins to get warm., but is certainly usable. It won't cotmpete with mesh jackets for breathability, but what can? It is fantastically adjustable and exactly what I was looking for: a jacket that will work in cold and not be unbearable in the heat. What I gtot excesses expectations.

Chris S. from HAZEL PARK, MI:
Outstanding!! I completely love this jacket. As the previous reviews stated, absolutely order at least one size larger. I order 2XL (XL in a Carhartt) and it is still a bit snug in the shoulders, but that is due in no small part to the padding. I am 6 foot approximately 210 pounds. It looks good, it feels good, and you certainly feel protected. I was in a pouring rain driving in Detroit and my upper body did not get wet one bit. My jeans were soaked, but the jacket did its job. I was really pleased with that aspect and it was one of the major reasons for selecting this jacket. It is also quite warm. I predict in the very cold it may get a bit chilly but the layers really, really help. You can't beat the price. Plus I searched online, found an online coupon and saved another nine bucks. When the jacket arrived, Leatherup hooked me up with a discount card on future purchases. Leatherup has another satisfied customer. It arrived in an excellent shape. The packaging and protection for the jacket in transit was first class. Muy Bueno!!

Lenard C. from LOMBARD, IL:
This is my first motorcycle jacket for my first motorcycle in 30 years, so I'm not an expert. I figured I'd get my first one, then get a better one once I figured out what I don't like about this one. That being said, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a jacket that I wasn't going to use for very long. Was looking for an all around weather jacket. But I didn't want a jacket with all sorts of graphics, colors and glitter. I think I made a very good choice here. I like this jacket a lot. Went riding yesterday in 50 degree weather and wasn't even the slightest bit chilled. I'm pretty sure another 10 degrees coolr wouldn't have been an issue at all. It is comfortable to wear, the armor isn't bulky or ugly and it looks pretty normal too. I agree with those who say to get a size up from what you usually wear. Pay attention to the way you unbutton the liners... as goofy as it may sound, the top three snaps aren't as easy to figure out as you might think. All in all, I know I made a very good choice with this jacket.

Jeffery E. from PARSONS, KS:
Liked the look of this jacket and have had it long enough to wear it on some very cold rides, thirty degrees being the coldest. The jacket kept me comfortable at highway speeds! However, the loops for the wet weather insert located in the sleeves of the coat are sewn into mesh which causes it to rip out easily. The buttons on the cold weather insert which has both buttons and loops suffer similarly as the buttons rip out of the mesh easily. I've had to re-sew both arms and one of the cold weather buttons so far. Not a deal breaker but attach points for inserts being sewn into mesh is NOT a good design. I normally wear a 2X coat so I sized up per a lot of other reviews but 3X was sold out so I got a 4X instead thinking it might be a tad to big but it fit fine and was in fact still just a tad snug in the elbows.

I would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for something safe, comfortable and versatile. I hit some gravel hard in a corner a few months back while wearing this jacket. I went down hard and my helmet and jacket got pretty messed up but I walked away with a few bruises and a bit of road rash. The padding and material in this jacket saved me from the possibility of much worse. I do agree to go one size up for a comfortable fit. But this jacket is great for hot weather or cool and I give it top marks for safety. Ride Safe everyone.
