matthew j. from FALL RIVER, MA:
pants seem to be of a durable quality. the sizing is off however. I read all the reviews posted before I chose to make this purchase. some people said order a size bigger and some said order your size. It varies individually. I ordered my size and I couldn't even get them buttoned. the leg and seat area seemed ok. so now the wait of having to exchange them begins. from what I gather thus far they are a good purchase at a reasonable price.

Leonard S. from Doylestown, PA:
Great riding jeans for the price. You need one size up to fit the waist. Pants are onl padded in the knees and have no Kevlar or Aramid fiber in the seat and crotch area. They are very comfortable and well made. I can live with only CE Approved knee pads. A great buy for the money and I received the pants in a quick three (3) days! Leather Up is the best and I buy many motorcycle items from them and have never been disappointed.

Angello M. from NEW YORK, NY:
Please be advised that all these are, are in essence glorified jeans with protection at the knees and nothing, nothing, nothing else. It depends what you want. I want jeans that I not only ride, but also protect me. These jeans are not going to protect me! Thus, with that said I want jeans that will have padding on the thighs and buttocks if I fall and not only at my knees! Consequently, these jeans do little to nothing in all honest. They are thus glorified jeans with protection at the knees and nothing else. Thus those that designed the jeans was not looking the rider. Instead make a jean with padding on the knees and call them riding/motorcycle jeans. Also, on the bottom of the jeans there should be a buckle because they feel like bell bottoms and they flap in the wind! Another design flaw. In conclusion, they are good, glorified jeans that offer minimal protection. They have the padding on the knees but they stopped there! Why? Why not putting padding on the buttocks and the side of leg/thing? and why do they flop in the wind-as if they are bell bottoms. Not well though out. I guess he failed engineering school or is not a motorcyclist. Everything else is good, but it is the engineering flaws that bother me and thus the nothing of glorified motorcycle jeans.

Rock K. from owenton, KY:
These jeans are nice. The fit is not to bad. I usually wear a 31. I ordered a 32 and they are slightly loose but ok. I like the padding in the knees not only for motorcycling safety, but for at work use. I like the stretch material in the crotch area for comfort on the bike and for movability at work. I would like these jeans in a carpenter style because of the side pocket that I could use for my cell phone. If they were in carpenter style and had a cheaper price I would buy more of them.

Garey C. from SAN DIEGO, CA:
I just made my first ride on these pants after receiving them. I found the waist fit to be correct to the stated size. I am a 36, on the light side and the size 36 fits me, snugly. The knee armor installed is good and stays where it should in my case. The stretch panels are more than generous and in fact may be too large from an appearance point of view. Very comfortable riding jean and pleasant in Southern California. The bottom pant leg cut is very wide and if these are a "boot cut" than someone is wearing large top boots out there. The jean is quite distinctive looking and when off the bike you are going to get comments and looks. Typical is wanting to know why they look as they do. So I'm not sure that you could wear them to a casual work day in an office or even an outside job work day as that bottom cuff area is such a large circumference. But as stated on the bike, very comfortable and I do like the peace of mind of the pre-installed knee armor.

Eric L. from Austin, TX:
Very heavy duty denim. As others have stated, the sizing runs small. In my case, VERY small. I normally wear a 42. I ordered the size 44. Could barely get them closed. Sent them back for a size 46 or if out to go to 48. LeatherUp quickly did the no hassle exchange and I received a size 48. It fits a little loose but not uncomfortably so. I had the length altered to a 30 inseam and they fit pretty well. The knee pads feel like they ride a little low but they still cover the knees. Hopefully I'll never have to find out how good the armor is, but it will still be much better than regular jeans. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and with the service provided by LeatherUp. A good value. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

This will be my 3rd pair of armored riding jeans which is my usual - 1 is a "name brand" the other is a "house brand" like these and I must say if these hold up, I am giving the value nod to Xelement. So far best value. it would a nice addition to have some kevlar in critical areas rather than the heavy weight demin, but notwithstanding that, the fit, finish, features and price make these a must have for most riding conditions.

Very impressed with these pants for the price. I found them to be quite comfortable. The long pant legs help prevent them from riding up and leaving my legs partially exposed when seated on the bike.

I usually wear a 34-36 waist pant, ordered a 34 and they were way too small. went to 38 and the waist fits well put had to hem up the legs. I have only worn a couple of times as of now, fit is comfortable, they sit well on the bike with the knee padding right where it should be. So far I am happy with them.

scott a. from ROCHESTER, MN:
I wear a 32/32 jean. I am 5'6" 170. After reading the reviews I went with a 34 and they fit great. If not truly preshrunk I can see the pant being too snug around the waist. If I were to exchange I think I would go with a 36 wanting a little extra room for insulated base layer if needed. Pant legs are on the baggy side and are a couple inches too long. Knee pad sits just below the knee just like the reviews said but took a chance. Because the pant is on the baggy side I don't see the need for the comfort elastic. Lots of room in the leg. Good quality denim.

Don't like to buy certain things online as you never know how things will fit sizing wise. Very happy with this purchase as they fit and feel good, Denim is very heavy weight, knee protectors are in the right place for my size inseam. Took awhile for them to be in stock and now that I know they are good may also purchase same type in black denim. Shipped quickly once I made puchase.

Michael C. from GIG HARBOR, WA:
What drew my attention to these pants was the stretch material in the crotch area and front upper thighs. With my height and weight I sometimes have a little difficulty getting on my bike. The stretch material helped considerably. Now I have a much easier time climbing on the bike. I bought my regular waist size and they fit great. They are a little long but that's no problem. I'm having the hem taken up to where they need to be. Plan on getting a black pair when they become available. I would recommend these pants.

Serden A. from SIGNAL HILL, CA:
Well, they fit almost true to regular jeans sizes but may be slightly more snug so going a size up could be smart for some. This is a regular pair of jeans, not even stitching looked any better, there is also no kevlar. The only thing different is the knee pads which as some mentioned, they move to the inside of the jeans when in riding position, not ideal so perhaps a minor alteration could resolve that issue as well as the loose hanging knee pad pockets inside the jeans that makes it a bit troubling when putting them on. For the money, they are not too bad but I honestly do not feel this pair deserves even a 4-star rating.

I am very happy with these pants. They are very reasonably priced and fit well. Along with the leather chaps I bought from Leatherup, I feel reasonably protected. It would be nice to have some padding on the hips. I might go back and get another pair they are that good!

Great price. I bought it two sizes above my waist size to go over my work pants. Snug but not overly tight. I could have done without the black banding but can't argue for the price. Could wish for more than just knee padding but that is nit-picking. Very satisfied with my purchase.

A good pair of pants. Comfortable and size seems to correspond with normal jean sizes. Appears to be a small area where the stitching was not tight , but it seems to be holding fine. Other then that no issues. The price was definately right.

David C. from SAINT PETERS, MO:
Love the pants....especially at the price I paid! I ordered a 36 because I am that size. I found the crotch a bit snug, but I think that is the style of jean versus the style I normally wear. After wearing them for a couple of rides - I can say that they are a decent fit overall. I personally don't carry anything in my pants pockets when riding - but the pockets do seem like they would hold stuff pretty well.

I wear a size 42 waist and that's what I ordered... Fits great! the padding in the knee is a bit bulky and the pocket it sits in is loosely positioned on the inner jean (nothing a little needle and thread cant handle) but they fit well and I look forward to testing them out on the road. Thanks again Leatherup!

ROBERT S. from SEDONA, AZ:
Jeans are good quality and well priced. One problem area is the pocket/pouch that hold the knee protection pads. They are not attached at the top to the pant material so when you put your foot in it can locate between the inside part of the pouch and pant leg. I stiched the top to the pant leg which eliminated the problem and made the pouch more stable.

craig m. from BALLWIN, MO:
Good quality and length. I was concerned about the low waist line and thought they would show plumber's butt, however, when seated in the riding position, the waist did not ride down. I guess it's a function of the mid length elastic. A good purchase and I wish they had the black in stock in my size. I have not washed them yet so no results to tell there. So far, so good. Very quick shipping.

These were out-of-stock for a long time but I was notified when they were available and my order was immediately processed for quick delivery. I am glad I waited; the jeans are comfortable, well sewn and of relatively heavy denim. Double seams, sewn reinforcements; very good product, great price. I have a 34 waist and the 34 fit just fine. I have 30 inseam and needed to shorten them 2 inches...QED. Magic wand? I'd love a cell phone pocket and a couple additional belt loops in back.

from BRONX, NY:
The fit and style of these pants were very good I have a long inseam and the knee rode a little higher then I would like I did order them the next size larger than I normally wear because I perfer a loose fitting jean . These pants are made from heavy duty denim and the elastic will serve as extra venting in the summer. The knee padding is removable. The shipping was fast and the product was just as advertised. This is a very good product for the money. Excellent work Leather Up!

eric h. from HOUSTON, TX:
Excellent product!! Deserving of both exclamation marks. :-) Waist measurement is true to size. The denim is thick and durable. Seams are straight. Stiching is heavy duty. Quality of construction is top notch, easily belying their super low price. And what's more, they come with CE rated knee armor! The cut is definitely Loose (for comfort), and Long (so you aren't riding with high-waters). The elastic makes mounting/dismounting your pony extremely easy, and provides excellent ventilation at kneens and crotch. Trust me, I live in hell, I mean Houston. I am totally impressed with these racing pants....with one exception. Mine arrived in a dark [dork] blue, not the faded blue depicted, and which I really prefer. Oh well, I guess the dye lots vary?

jeff k. from SEYMOUR, WI:
i have really enjoy these pants sense i bought them. after about a month i decieded that they could be eaven better. i work in a manufacturing environment and decieded that it was a pain in the a** to take my steel toe boots off every time i wanted to put on or take off these pants. i purchased two heavy duty 18" zippers (looking back i should have got about a 22" to make it eaven better) and put one in each leg to make it easier to slip them on over my boots. i also sewed the knee guard holders down as i thought they moved aroung too much. i would buy another pair when i need them. if they put in some type of heavy duty zipper i would absoluity buy another pair eaven for an increase in price.

Roger H. from DUNN LORING, VA:
The fit was perfect, though I take a 33 and these were 34. The knee and shin padding was set too high, so when sat on the bike the pads covered the top of the knee and thigh (and is a little uncomfortable). I am 5' 10" and I do not have long legs either, so these would better suit those who are not as tall or with short legs. I expected heavyweight denim, but these seem no heavier than regular Wranglers. I also expected the pads to held into the jeans by more than thin cotton pockets that may rip if I put my legs in too enthsiastically. Still, for the price they will do the job for short summer rides.

Run a little small, i would order the next size up. I just got them and they seem like they will hold up pretty well. The stretch/vent panels will be great on those hot summer days. Only downside is that if you're not 6'+ tall or a long legged freak you will probably need to get them hemmed. They're very long.

Nice pair of jeans with added value of some armor for any falls. Comfortable at my regular waist size and also works with a size larger, but the size larger a bit long. Wish there was more armor and a bit better siziing in length but close enough. Recommend these jeans for warm weather riding.

Had not gotten to use them much (still in my winter pants), but I sure like my experience so far. I had to return the first pair and order one size up, but the exchange was taken care of in a very professional manner. The only negative I have is concerning the position of the knee pads while walking, but I guess they have to be that way while in the riding position. Good product. Great service.

I ordered these pants and I must say that they are great. I usually wear sz 40 34 Levi 501s and I ordered these in sz 42 per other reviews. I washed them in cold and dried them and I actually think I may like the way they feel better than my Levis. 1st thing I noticed on the bike was that there was no binding while swinging a leg over and the knee pads reduce the cold on the legs. Outstanding pants I am going to order the black ones now that I know. Padding not too impressive, knees thin pad.
