Michael W. from GROVES, TX:
Only used this bag once so far and it worked great. Packed enough clothes and gear for two for a weekend with room to spare. This is a very soft sided bag and if it isn't full it is pretty saggy. I didn't think I would use all of the outside pockets but they are pretty handy to have. There are three straps that keep it nice and snug on the sissy bar. The other loose straps keep the roll bag secure on top. The only thing I am not thrilled with is if the bag isn't full it will be saggy and the zippers are a little stiff, hope they last but for the sale price I am sure I am sure I will get my money's worth out if it. Plan to use it as much as possible now that I have it! Thanks LU so far everything I have bought from here has been a great deal and spot on.

Michael H. from BRAINTREE, MA:
I have not used this item yet. So far I have only taken it out of the box. I like the look and feel of the material. My bike does not have a sissy bar, but I expect I will find a way to fit it onto the rear seat post. The rules of the review require I rate each category. Since I have not actually used the item for it's intended usage, For this reason I rated the item as medium for durability, fit and overall. For the price, the item appears to be a reasonable purchase and worth the risk for the price I paid. It is quite voluminous as it appears I can put enough stuff into it for an extended overnight ride and stay. The zippers should be handled with care trying not to operate them hastily. They seem to be resistant to rough handling. I found that being gentle with them they will work nicely. After I get it fitted to my bike and go on an extended overnight stay, I can come back to offer more description of my review.

Soft leather and plenty of room! Couldn't believe what I got for the price. There are many buckles and straps to fix in different positions. We took a ride to Nashville, put almost a weeks worth of clothes with room to spare. Comes with a rain cover! For the money, I'm very satisfied I would recommend this to all bikers!

Rick F. from SPARTANBURG, SC:
High quality leather bag for a very reasonable price. Soft leather heavy zippers that work if they are treated correctly. There are plenty of buckles provided for fastening the bag to the bike in several different configurations. This bag is not a rough and tumble bag. It is a gentleman's bag and if treated properly and not abused will provide service for many trips. Used on a 1,000 mile trip held a weeks worth of street cloths. The bag expands 2" front to back if needed. A rain cover is provide and it works adequately. For the money I am very impressed. the fit and finish are excellent. I don't hesitate to recommend this bag to others. It's not built for abuse but is perfect for packing and carrying clothing on a trip.

Amy M. from RALEIGH, NC:
Awesome product, fast shipping, great quality and very reasonably priced! The only reason I gave it 4 stars overall is because, as so many others mentioned, it has lots of straps and it should come with some sort of instructions on what to do with them or at least a video. I figured out what to do with most of them, but I'm still baffled on others. The quality of the leather is so great, I couldn't believe the price! Both the barrel bag and the luggage bag are very roomy. It also comes with a couple of extra straps and a rain bag to cover the luggage bag. Definitely a "steal" of a deal!

Prior to purchasing this, I read all the reviews which were favorable. After receiving the bag I was still impressed. To get it under $60 was a steal. The quality of the leather, as well as the construction will last for years to come. I have made several purchases from LetherUp the past few months, but I feel this may have been my best bargin.

This product is well worth the price. I have to agree with previous posts that it needs better directions or a possible instructional video.

I like the luggage but it would be nice if you would receive better directions or Leatherup would do a video to tell you what to do with all the straps and the best way to secure it and your gear. I still don't have it all figured out.

Lonnie G. from Albany, OR:
Love this bag, which I bought in May, 2010 here, the price was $10 more than it is now, didn't realize I hadn't reviewed it yet. I have taken many trips including 5 trips from Oregon to Sturgis (3000- 4500 miles each time) using this bag, it has been holding up well with just a couple of places where stiching has been week (on one of side bags and on main top zipper). Bag has handled the weather great, I use Skidmore leather cream, actually only stopped just once to use the rain cover that comes with bag and I have ridden in many rain and thunder storms. Took a two week road trip through the West and Southwest last year, this bag a tail bag and toolbag were more than ample for my clothes, cameras and small laptop. For just me this bag is all I need for a week long trip, key to packing it is to stuff it full, sometimes I put a small bedroll in the barrel bag but it works great if I roll my shirts up and slide them in it. I also found that using the strap that I use to loop back and under my tail rack works great as a shoulder strap for carrying the bag. Am thinking of ordering another one of these as price is definitely right and mine won't last forever.

Michael S. from LAS VEGAS, NV:
Bag is excelent quality: Zippers, stitching, leather, linning, some of the best quality I have encountered. Factor in the price and it is an exceptional deal. When I first looked in the bag, I thought it was small. Then I noticed the expansion zipper. There are a lot of straps, and for me that is a strength. I usually need more straps than available. Bag fits well to the backrest on my Road King.

Jake F. from FARGO, ND:
I ended up returning this bag because of a broken zipper. Instead of getting a replacement, I traded up for a nicer Xelement waterproof bag which I like WAY more. The leather quality of this bag is excellent but the zipper quality is terrible. One of the external pocket zippers separated on my first trip and the top zipper felt like it was close behind. Also, the way the roll bag straps buckle to the lower straps at a common mount point (see front center of picture) puts considerable pressure on the leather at an awkward angle. I felt I was going to tear it when simply securing it to the bike so that is a bad design in my opinion. The included rain cover would work in a pinch and fits over the bag even when expanded. The bag has no internal support so if you don't load it all the way, it sags considerably. Overall, this will work for some people but I wouldn't expect it to hold up over time without some zipper/strap repairs. Also, there were several design flaws which were a deal-breaker for me but I am picky so take that with a grain of salt.

William F. from Huntsville, OH:
The bag is of very good quality. I have not used it on a ride yet, and I do agree with several comments pertaining to the straps on the back rest, they are very long and most likely not needed. I did strap it on when I received it and it felt very secure with plenty of room. Only one problem, one of the side zipper pockets was faulty and the zipper did not work. The return process seemed too much of a hastle to send it back, so I thought that I would keep it and would be able to live with 3 side pockets.

Andrew P. from STRASBURG, PA:
All the leather is high quality, and it appears to be very well made. The rest of the reviews are right, there are a ton of unnecessarily long straps, but with a little common sense and creativity, it's not hard to figure out how to strap it on and where to stow the dangling strap ends. It holds a surprising amount for it's size, and really doesn't take up a whole ton of room. For a comfortable low backrest, fill the round bag with shirts and rags and strap it to the front of the main bag, it fits perfectly and really makes those long hauls more enjoyable.

Bag(s) came right on time as expected. They have plenty of room for a good weekend excursion. The only downside is it has alot of straps and buckles that are not detachable and no instructions. The picture on the website is useful in setting it up though lol. Otherwise, a great value for a good bag.

MICHAEL A. from MOORESVILLE, NC:
I ordered this bag to take to Daytona bike week, I chose this one because it was the only bag left under$100.00 that wasn't sold out. The bag was very large and roomy, I didn't need the Barrel bag because there was room to spare in the main bag when packing for a 4 day trip. The only negatives are that the bag has no structure, when empty it has the same consistancy as a leather jacket. Also, it would be nice if there was an integrated handle on the top of the bag to carry it to your hotel room. Overall though, this is a good buy! High quality leather, handy side zipper pouches and quick to put on and remove from the bike!

Paula H. from South Plainfield, NJ:
The item is beautifully made. After unzipping the collapsable sections the luggage becomes comfortably large. This way you can leave for your trip with the bags in the smaller position and expand them as you acquire souvenirs along the road. This was a gift for my boyfriend and I was actually jealous because these bags are much nicer than my nylon luggage. Also, there is a waterproof cover to protect the leather if you need it. I am very happy with this purchase.

William B. from SCOTIA, NY:
Bags arrived right on schedule as promised. Bought one set for me and one set for my wife. The leather quality is heavy enough to withstand the elements. i have not had the oppurtunity for a test run as of yet. they will be tested on a four day trip to Laconia. The buckles and straps are heavy duty and numerous. Not to sure what they are all for, as time goes by i am sure they each have a specific application. A diagram or two showing their uses would be most helpful. i do not think you can beat the price for this quality. Cant rate a five without at least a test run or two.

Great product! I strapped it on the back of my dyna wide glide for every day use to take stuff back and forth to work. Every time I put items in it and I think I'm out of room, there's always just a little more to be found when I need it. I can't wait to use it for a trip. It's made from flexible leather and has great stitching. Very durable. It shipped fast and I had it three days after ordering. I'm very impressed with Leather Up and will now be using them for all my riding needs. What a great product!

Gaylene G. from PORTLAND, OR:
I was invited to review this product before I've been able to use it, so this review is based upon my initial impression. The bag is leather, so it's heavier than ideal, but as long as the zippers, liner and stitching hold up, it should last forever. I put the bag on my Sportster's medium tall sissy bar without latching it down just to see how it might work, and I think it will work fine. With all the lengthy straps, I should be able to attach a sleeping bag to it behind the sissy bar either vertically OR horizontally, depending upon which straps I use. Robert B. from Lawrenceburg, IN mentioned packing the duffel with soft stuff, attaching it to the front of the bag and using it as a comfy backrest, and that sounds like a great idea. Either that, or switch places with the sleeping bag. I think I'm going to like this setup, especially since it's about half the price of a T-bag. The only thing that would make it even better would be if it had a handle near the top so you could grab it and carry it easier. I really am looking forward to trying it out.

Great bag for the money! First of all, it's leather which is cool even though all of the products from Xelement seem to be from Pakistan, which is not so cool in the present political situation. It's perfect for day or weekend trips. The roll bag, when attached to the front of the main bag, and stuffed with soft stuff, is a great back rest on a cruiser.
