Richard G. from TEHACHAPI, CA:
I have only had the chance to use the pants once this year, and the fit definitely runs small. I ordered the next size up to wear over my jeans. Had to send back for the next size up from that. Now they fit well over my jeans and seem comfortable, however still a bit of a chore to pull them up. I wear 33 jeans and found that size 36 overpants work for me. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase and thank you LeatherUp and your exchange policy.

Not sure which stars I pushed but these pants were a perfect fit for me. I am a size 40 and booth 42. I can get jeans on under them or ride naked with these. Now I need a jacket and will buy mine here. I give it 5 stars

Andrew B. from CUMBERLAND, WI:
I'm 5' 7", 173 lbs, wear size 33 short jeans. Originally I ordered a size 34", way to small, I could not even zip the jeans with the liner removed. Ordered a size 38 and they worked well. I bit big in the waist, but not a problem with the velcro waist band. Length of the legs were perfect. Very happy with the Xelement riding pants. I took a 5 day 1,100 mile trip from Wisconsin - Ontario - Wisconsin. First hour of the trip it rained hard. The pants kept me 100% dry. The whole trip I did not use the liner. Early mornings were 50%, temps were fine on my trusty 83 shadow 750. In the afternoons, I would use the pant's until it got sunny and 75% , then the pants got a little warm. Suggestion when buying: 1: Sit on your ride, then measure your waist. Buy 1 or two sizes up. Better too big then two small. Very impressed so far with the pants.

Paul L. from NORBORNE, MO:
Came with cool weather liner, took out. Ordered a 38 to wear over jeans, works great for keeping the cool spring air from numbing your legs on a morning commute. Will add insulation later this fall. Ill say this, the pants fit good until you sit on your bike, then Helllooooo high waters. Unless your wearing tall boots under them your ankles will be exposed. Plenty of protection, have knee caps inside pants, kinda awkward walking around, but feel fine when riding. But seriously, they ride high, look for a pair that has a longer leg, they will expose your ankles and lower shin to the cool morning air.

pants felt great, the fit was amazing, i run on the thin side 5"11 and around 140 lbs. BUT major down side was after the second day a wore them (taking my safety class :P) when i got home, the seat of the pants was Complete shredded from seam to seam. this of course worry's me, since i had no falls, and was sitting on the bike for about 6 hours over the course of two days. All i did was sit on a padded seat, and the Cordura was totally ripped. i would not recommend at all. now im going all leather, all the time.

Gretchen K. from TOLEDO, OH:
Like other reviews have said, order at least 2 sizes up!!! I normally wear a size 36 and ordered a size 40. With dress pants on and the insulated liner they are a tight fit! However I think a 42 might be too big so I am keeping them. The legs are a bit short (I wear 32" inseam in Levi's) If they were an inch longer they would be perfect. The knee pads land in the right spot. I'm not sure if it's just the way I tried them on or what but it seems like the crotch is a bit low making it difficult to swing my leg over the bike. Assuming I can edit/update this review later I'll clarify after I've had a chance to take a few rides with the pants.

Daniel J. from MANCHESTER, NY:
I bought these as a solution to riding in cooler weather It's getting down to high 30s low 40s in the mornings now, and I'm impressed. With the liner in, not only to I not feel the wind, but I am warm! They match up to my previously purchased Xelement jacket and it's great. My face is the flaw now! As far as quality, everything seems well made, but I have only had them for a month now. Durability will be a longer test. The fit however is a little tight. I wanted to use these over my jeans, so I bought 2 sizes bigger. I might be a bit fatter than assumed because they WILL NOT fit over my jeans, especially with the liner in them. I wear a 36 size jeans, i bought 40 size pants. Not a big deal, they are comfortable as normal riding pants alone, and would be happy on the bike all day like that, but be wary you may need to carry extra ants with you. Not an issue for me, just a warning to others. The top area rides higher than normal pants and will fit snug. Length vs width problem if you are a shorter person.

Just recently bought these pants to go with the jacket. It was a cold night 100 miles to get home and donned the pants with the matching jacket and never felt so toasty on a cold ride home. I ordered size38 as I hear a 34 and the fit great over my pants . Best $70 I spent on riding equipment.

These are great pants that come with a removable lining, but I will probably never use the lining here in Houston. Much more high quality and sturdy than expected. Zip and Velcro pockets are great. I did not notice the recommendation to order one size up when I ordered, but as it turns out it is true to size. They fit great. If you wear jeans under these pants, you may want to wear a size up. Honestly, the fabric is probably too hot to wear jeans underneath unless it is 60 degrees or less. I got these became I don't do the Harley Pirate look, even though I ride a Harley. They look Great and fit great.

I bought these for overpants for my upcoming winter commute. I ordered two sizes up from my normal waist size and they work perfectly over my jeans. Used the last two mornings with temps in the 40's and they performed well without the insulated liner. With the liner in, I'm sure I'll be comfortable throughout the southern Indiana winter.

Thomas W. from Pleasantville, Somewhere:
I liked them when I pulled them out of the packaging. I typically wear size 34-36 in jeans and I ordered a size 38. They were comfortable and good looking. However, it didn't take long before I noticed that there were a couple of locations where the stitching was either falling apart or nonexistent. I think they'd be great pants if it weren't for the lack of quality control but, as is, I wouldn't trust them to keep me safe if I slid across pavement.

Ordered this pants to match my Xelement Jacket and can say I'm very happy with the purchase. Construction is top notch. Fits and feels perfect. Only thing is that is hot !! Unlike the Xelement jacket that allows both the waterproofing and warming liners to come out, in the pants only the warming liner comes out, not the waterproofing. The shipping as always was quick. Thanks again Leather Up !!

The price for the quality of pants is excellent . So far the durability has been good also ( I hope I never have to find out how durable they really are ) The fit is okay ( the knee pads and the shin pads keep riding down your leg when riding ) a hook and loop added here would help hold them in place . Overall I am very happy with the product so far .

No Complaints. I had to return the first pair to go a size up but Leatherup exchanged for free. Going a size up is recommended. Amazing what 1/2" additional length will do. Great price for a pair of pants that have so many features such as zip out liner for summer. I got an Xelement jacket that came with rear zipper made to attach to these pants. Great combo for the price!

Carl W. from LAKELAND, FL:
I have been riding for 40 years and I wasen't expecting much more than a glorified rain suit for the money. When I pulled out the pants (also bought CF-626 armored Jacket) I was truely surprised...after trying the pair on I was seriously amazed at the features and quality of the set. Once you zip the kidney belt in place, you know your not only wearing serious protection, for that moment you hope never comes. You have on a quality piece of rain gear. The liner and you just made cold weather riding a comfortable issue. ( Leaving Lakeland for Anchorage via Thunder Bay trip last week of July returning by September 1.) Now the fit----- I am 5'8" tall 200lbs with a 38 waist, inseam 31 thigh 27" I ordered the pants size 42 and glad I did. Leaves comfort room in all the right places and the knee pads hit perfect when zipped into the jacket. Room for jeans under the insulated liner. There about 4" long but when I got on the wing with feet on the highway pegs there perfect! No binding! Large around boots, will fit motocross boots if your so inclined.

The number 1 attraction to me is the price!!! You CANNOT get cheaper anywhere! The quality is unbelievably good, the fit is perfect,(I ordered my jeans size 34') & the only gripe I have is that the legs could be a few inches longer. I would definitely recommend this company to fellow 'bikers. Mick in Branson,MO.

I'm disappointed with the quality of the pants liner. One of the legs doesn't have any of the retaining loops. It doesn't effect the function of the pants, it's hard getting them off.

I ordered these pants and the jacket that went with it. I wear my gear all the time! I was on the 710 on ramp when I notice a car speeding up behind me, the car came so close I thought it was going to ram me! I ended up coming on the outside hitting gravel and sliding 100 feet! I walked away with only minor road rash! A CHP officer came up and heard about a broken down bike when I told him that I'd slid a hundred feet his eyes went wide and he looked me up and down couldn't believe it and then shook my hand and said thank you for wearing your gear! I wish you could post pictures. I never caught the car that ran me off the road. So I say GEAR GEAR GEAR!

Gerald P. from RALEIGH, NC:
Jerry from Raleigh, NC I ordered two sizes up to wear over jeans and the waist is right on the mark (5'9 - 245lbs - 42 waist & ordered a 46). The waist is kind of high, hip and thigh areas do have a bit of extra loose material like they were modeled after horse riding pants. The bigest drawback is that I cannot put on/take off these pants without removing my boots. I have not tried taking out the knee guards, but it might help. These pants work really well in cold weather. I don't use the thermal liner because they are poorly made and bunch up, but you don't really need them. No wind gets through these pants. I rode on the expressway at 8am at 70mph on a 36/37 degree morning. I felt a little chill on my ankles and that was not bad at all. Great value for the price.

Steven R. from FRONT ROYAL, VA:
Please believe it when people are saying you have to order these pants at least two sozes larger than what you would normally wear. I usually wear a size 40, but when I received the size 44 that I ordered, I found it was still to snug in the waist and seating area. I could zip them up, but they were uncomfortable and were really hard to sit down in. However, even though I couldn't fit them properly I can still tell that these are quality pants. They are really heavy-duty with the zip-out liner in them and I feel they would be perfect pant for cold weather. Without the liner, I think they would be perfect for wearing over a pair of jeans. Although the waist and seat area was too tight, the armor in the legs sat right where it was supposed to. I have ordered a larger pair and am sending these back for a refund (they didn't have many left in my size so I wanted to make sure I got a pair before they ran out). I can't wait for them to come in so I can try them out in the cold weather.

Tracy B. from RIO RANCHO, NM:
Sizing is always a big question mark for me and these pants fit as expected. I am 5'11", weigh 320 pounds and wear 44" waist jeans with a 32" inseam. I order these pants in a 48 so I could wear them as overpants on cold morning commutes into work. Coldest morning thus far was in the low 20s and with the removable liner out, these pants were great--I felt no cold at all getting through and most of my ride is 60-65 mph. The pants are REALLY bulky with the liner in but they still fit ok over my jeans. I think they would be tough to wear for riding however I would imagin they would do a really good job and some very low temps. I have an Xelement jacket (CF-330) and they look great together plus the zipper attachment to join the pants to the jacket at the lower back is awesome.

John H. from HENDERSON, NV:
Just received these pants. Size 48...Fitment: I'm 6'3 and 260.. Have a 65 yr. old slight , beer/junk food belly. I wear 46x33 Levi's . This size easily fits over my Levi's. with the removable quilted liner in. May take a bit to pull over boots and take off, but I did it.. (promptly ripped off one (of 2) of the attachment loops at bottom of one leg with liner in..) Kinda crappy loop, snap, and sewing. Fit is nice while on bike too.. These are NOT "bun hugger " style of pants.. They are a little "baggie". Pant legs (for me anyway) almost drag ground with boots on, but are perfect while on bike But if you want to wear Levi's under them do like I say and get next size up for sure. They remind me of my old snow mobile pants. Not fun to walk around in. Went for a short 50' ride. Came home and took out the quilted liner. Still plenty warm.. Other info: Made in Pakistan, No rear pockets, 2 big, deep from pockets w/zippers and velcro/leather strip over them. Has fly zipper w/velcro/leather strip over zipper.. Velcro belt.. (works good.) "accordion fabric" strips above knees, and upper butt. They have a non-removable nylon style liner too. Without pants under these are pretty baggie, but they're not designed for the "Ricky Crotchrocket" dudes.. No "armor" except for kinda small knee pads The pants must be made by same Pak factory that made my "Tourmaster Sonora" armored jacket.. Perfect match, but don't attach together.. Now I have a great "textile' set. Also have my "Xelement" leather armored jacket and "Jim Morrison" leather pants for the "leather rides".. Price is right for what you get.. Have bought quite a bit of Leatherup stuff.. No complaints..

William K. from COVENTRY, RI:
I'm really impressed with these pants. I bought an XElement jacket a few months ago. They look great together. The pants attach to the jacket which is really nice. You don't have that spot on your lower back that is exposed. The pants are super warm with the liner, I would say it would make it comfy to ride in 30 degree weather. I rode today, it was about 50 degrees outside, all I had on my legs were the riding pants without the liner. One tip: if you take the liner out, take care when putting the pants on. The first time I went to put my pants on my toe caught the pocket that holds the armor padding inside the knee area and ripped it a little. Other than that, if you plan on wearing pants under these order like 3 or 4 sizes big. I have size 40 waist and I got the biggest size available. If I wear them with pants it is a little tight. If I wear them as just pants they fit almost perfect.

Very well designed. New to riding but all about safety. Has armor designed in pant for added protection. Very tightly woven nylon which makes them a little on the hot side. Purchased along with a jacket with similiar design which goes quite well together. Pants have a wide velcro belt; nice touch. Purchased two sizes up (generally wear a 36-38) to wear over dress slacks when heading to work. They might be more spacious then I needm but they are not bulky.

All around these have been great pants. I feel safe with them on, and even in hot weather I can stay cool and not look like a clown. One major issue though, I've had these pants for a little over a month and the crotch has begun tearing pretty badly. I am only 5'11 and 160lbs, and pants shouldn't tear like this. It's too bad you only get 30 days to return items.

Ronald R. from ELIZABETH CTY, NC:
I decided to order these as overpants, so I initially ordered a size 38 as I am a 34 waist. Well, the 38's were way to big so I returned them for a 36. Returning was easy, just filled out the form and sent them back and within about 7 business days I had the 36's. They will work good as overpants although the waist is still a littel big for me. When I am standing the length is good, but when I ride they do pull up over my boots. I think that a strap that clips to the pant bottoms and goes under the boot will prevent this. I also think it is because the inseam hangs low. Other than that, seems to be well made with durable materials. The zipout liner will be nice once the temperatures start to fall.

I like these pants a lot with one major exception. They are too short. I am 6'1" with a 33" inseam and when sitting on my bike, the legs hike up almost to the top of my boots. With constant shifting back and forth on the saddle, they eventually slip over the top which causes great irritation to say the least. That's a shame because they are really well made and comfortable otherwise. I wear 34" jeans and ordered these pants with a 36" waist. I have no trouble getting them on over my jeans.

Great riding pants for $70!! I am VERY please with the product for the price! I did not expect the zip out lining at all, its not listed in the item details! I haven't tried to zip the lining out to see how they will fit over another pair of pants/jeans but I suspect it will be just fine! These are my first pair of real riding pants and I am very pleased, thank you LeatherUp for the great deal!

I like the pants, all loops to hold the liner broke off within a couple of weeks. I think the sizing chart runs short I ordered the 40 as I have a 30 inch inseam and a 40 is supposed to be 30 1/2, they ride high and the knee pads low. I think I would have ordered the 32 inch inseam on the 44 even though they would have been to big around the waist. The "Tri-Tex" fabric is not waterproof.

These pants are nice and sturdy but too short for riding if your riding positions tends to 'lift' your pants legs. I ride a chopper style bike and they were waaay to short once I got seated. Order one size up if you want to wear them with just a base layer under them, two sizes up if you want to wear them over jeans. Inseam is only 31 1/2" so beware. Otherwise good solid riding pants.

My only gripe is with the knee/shin guards; I'm 5'10 with a 30 inch inseam and the guards ride low and are uncomfortable unless you take the time to pull them into the correct position. Good quality for the money. Ed El Paso, TX

Oh yea! Oh yea baby! Beautiful pair of pants, don't really know how leather up does this, I've ordered over a $1000.00 worth of product, never a problem, always a perfect fit, could not be happier. Thanks much, Chris

Really like the pants. Ordered one size up per advice and they work fine, even over jeans. Work well with the jacket I also ordered. Good fit in the saddle and feel much more protected. The inner liner tabs that go over the buttons are frail and two broke before I got them on. Will mend them to be stronger.

Good pants for the price! I ordered one size up and can't wear these as over pants. This is not a big deal because they have a thick removable liner. i would purchase these pants again.

Great item at any price. They are long for the size but fit perfectly when in riding position.

Mike D. from MORRISVILLE, NC:
Bought these to wear as overpants. I'm 5'6" & 155# with 31" waist. Followed others' advice and bought 2 sizes up (34"). The waist was WAY too big but I could barely squeeze my calves through the lower pant leg without having my pants bunch up around the knees. I tried it without pants and the calf area was still quite constricting. I'm no body builder, either. I couldn't find a solution to the big waist/tight calf dilemma, so I just returned them. Pants are quite long, as well, so if you have a 28-29" inseam like I do, the pants will have about 3-4" bunched up around your boots. Material-wise, the pants seemed rather sturdy. They're pretty bulky from the knee up, so I'd imagine they'd protect pretty well if needed. Made me sweat just walking around during the summer. They fly is not zippered, as advertised, but velcro with extra material folded behind it. I wish I could keep them for the outstanding value, but the fit just wasn't right.
