Audrey S. from Pleasantville, Somewhere:
I have small ankles and the boots are large. Order your normal size. Will have to wear thicker socks to fit better. Other than that, I think they were a pretty good deal.

Abel A. from LOS ANGELES, CA:
Love these boots-affordable. They look like other brand: Frye engineer R12. These boots are definitely quality boots. The leather is thick and tough and I can tell they will last for years. Regarding sizing, which was my main question in ordering these without trying them- I read every review out there before ordering a 8.5. I normally wear a size 8.5/9. I ordered size 8.5. These boots size 8.5 is very roomy. I wish I ordered the 8 and not take so seriously the warnings to size down. Better safe than sorry I guess, and I will not be returning them due to the cost of shipping. I am sure I can accommodate an insole and an extra socks in these. Fast Shipping. Worth the purchase.

Tina A. from RIO VISTA, CA:
BAD ASS BOOTS!!! HOWEVER, I ride my own bike and these boots don't take the shifter AT ALL. Not made to ride, as the toe mold collapses on the big toe :( They do run about a 1/2 size large, so read all the reviews. They are indeed VERY hard to get on the first several times because of the leather upper. I bought silk socks to get these boots on and off. That helps a lot. As far as sex appeal these boots drip with it!!! They are so fun and I feel great with my skinny pants ticked in them.

These are nice bike boots for the price. I was glad I took the time to read the reviews on how they run bigger. They do! Otherwise I would recommend them ladies, I don't feel you will be disappointed.

Frank P. from Kenosha, WI:
These are real riding boots, not just fashion boots, although they are quite fashionable. Women's Engineer boots that are a functional boot are not easy to find, they are usually cheaply made with cheap materials. These boots are tough from the bottom up. The sole is solid and sturdy when stopping, and balancing the bike. The boot is constructed of a heavy leather that you would find in a good men's work boot. They are true to size, running a little wide to accommodate a wider foot, and extremely comfy as well I could not be happier. Ladies, these are a must have for Lady Biker!!!

Jacque V. from WEST MILFORD, NJ:
I don't think that I have taken them off since I got them. Not only are they super comfortable to ride in, with no slipping when stopping, they also look adorable with dresses and skirts. The leather is thick and they are made just as well as, if not better then, the more expensive boots that I was looking at. They are very comfortable right out of the box, however at first the inside was leaving black marks on my legs but that seems to be going away. These do run big. I am an 8.5 and ordered the 8. I think I could have gone with the 7.5 however with different insoles they feel fine. When I took out the original insoles to put my own in, I noticed the there was a size 6 on the bottom of it. This may explain the sizing down that most people are talking about. I love them and am really happy with them. :)

Cynthia F. from SEDALIA, CO:
I like the look and they are sturdy, but the fit is bad. I ordered my normal size and the front half of the boots fit fine, but the heel is huge. I believe these were designed for men's feet. I've purchased men's boots before, and the heel is always large for me. Also, they are heavily dyed inside and will rub off on your socks (and legs). There is nice cushioning inside, but since I had to add another insole to take up some of the excess room in the heel, I do not get the benefit of the cushion that came in the boot. I'd love to exchange them for a half size down, but LeatherUp policy says they do not pay shipping on exchanges. I probably won't order from LeatherUp again because of this and will make do with a boot that doesn't fit properly.

Danielle F. from ROYAL OAK, MI:
I went by what the other ratings said and got a size/half size smaller. I am always somewhere between a 10 and 11, so I figured a 10 would fit perfectly. As it turns out my toes are right there at the end with my heel all the way to the back of the heel. This would be ok, but they're also pretty wide, which makes my foot slide forward to really jam my toes. I tried inserts, they helped a little, I'll try one more kind, and then pass them to my daughter. The quality is excellent, these boots really are Bad Ass...worth every cent. I'm just bummed the largest size they come in is a 10. Maybe I'll try the men's, I'm just a bit concerned that they might run even wider.

I bought these boots for my girlfriend. She loves the boots, but they are too big. I ordered her normal size, 7 1/2, and I'm returning them for a 7. But I just discovered that Leather Up does not provide return shipping labels, and the USPS wants $23 to ship these back! Very bummed about that. Retailers that sell footwear on line should make it easy and cheap to return item for a better fit.

Purchased these boots and based on reviews, I purchased size smaller. It is true that you have a hard time at first getting into them. When i did get in them, they were still bigger in size and very uncomfortable in the heels. Was poking me in the sides. Could not tolerate them. Returned them.

These boots are sexy. They are a great price. They last a long time. I do not ride a motorcycle but wear these to work with skirts and dresses. They are professional, warm, stylish and functional. I paid over $250 for a pair of leather boots and they are falling apart (after 9 months). I am sure these will not. Love these. I have other boots from Leather Up. Consistently GREAT customer service and AWESOME quality (not found today much in anything). Keep the integrity and quality Leather Up. I as your (repeat) customer CARE!! Thank you! My role is in quality so I know what matters. I do not give 5's often. Leather Up -- does it right!

Mary from Jacksonville, AR:
I bought these to replace my Carolina Engineer boots after ~15 years of wear (~5 actually riding a motorcycle) and I have to say that these are every bit as good, if not better. I read the reviews and ordered 1/2 a size down (normally wear an 8, ordered a 7.5) and that worked out perfectly. They fit great right out of the box in terms of length. As some reviewers noted, they are a bit looser than expected in terms of the top of the foot. For me, that was perfect as the boots very comfortably accommodate a 3/4 length drugstore arch support - something that this boot, like any other engineer boot I've ever tried or worn, is almost entirely lacking. With that addition, they are extremely comfortable on my feet all day long and they also offer all the benefits you'd expect as a rider - durability, quality of craftsmanship and formidable, non-slip soles for a fraction of the price of competitors. You won't be sorry you bought these whether it's for footwear value, rider safety, all day comfort or edgy style!

Fit a little big as other reviews state, have to make new holes in ankle strap to tighten down so dont slip in heel, heel staps could be a little less stretchy even with thick socks they slip other than that fit great i have wide feet have plenty of room no squeezing. They are kinda hard to get on at first but after couple times its better. Overall love the boots. Recommend buy true size I would have sent these back but they are out of stock in reg size so I'll make do

Looked for years for a good quality engineer boot. Love these!!!! I usually wear between a 7 1/2 - 8. Bought the 71/2 and they fit perfectly. Super comfy and stylish. Liked them so much I got the brown motorcycle boots a month later. Best quality - can smell the leather. Wore them the day after I got them for 12 hours of walking and my feet never hurt. You will not be disappointed.

Shandi K. from ATHENS, GA:
I am normally a size 7 in shoes, but based on the reviews I read, I ordered a half-size down; 6.5. They fit the length of my foot perfectly with normal socks on but would be very tight with thermal socks. And for some reason, the right boot is smaller than the left. At first I thought maybe my right foot was bigger and I had never noticed, but the right boot is even about 2cm shorter than the left one where it comes up to the shin. They are both labeled 6.5. I don't know what's going on there. Another problem I have is that the buckles don't get nearly tight enough to be secure on my legs (even with jeans tucked into them!). I even poked some extra holes in the straps to minimal effect. The boots are not going to fall off while I'm walking, but I'm not confident that they would stay on in a motorcycle wreck. For reference, I am 5'3" and 112 lbs and my calves are not particularly "skinny." I would say the boots are just loose up there. Overall, these boots are a good value.... they were only $70 compared to ridiculously expensive ones I have found. I expect them to get me through my first few months learning to ride but I will definitely be upgrading asap.

I am not a biker, but I loved the look of these boots, so I gave them a try. From a purely fashion perspective, these boots are awesome. They look just like a famous brand...name that rhymes with Pie ;-). The leather is so thick and soft. The quality of the boot is extremely high, especially given the price I paid for them. I hope to get another pair in brown. Love them! Thanks, LeatherUP!

tammy h. from wilmington, NC:
So far so good on these boots. I wear a 7 1/2 shoe, ordered a 7 boot and they are a little loose with normal socks, not sloppily so but I could have probably gone to a 6 1/2. They do leave a black residue on your socks so either wear black socks or wear ones that you don't mind getting stained. This may go away as they are worn more, they've only been on my feet twice. Very easy to slip on and off without undoing the buckles. I was a bit worried about shifting with the thickness of the toe or my foot getting stuck on the pegs but I've had no issues with this so far. The shaft of the boot is a bit loose on my calves even with jeans tucked in, not an issue for me, but if you are looking for boots that fit snug in this area then these aren't the ones you want.

Elisa J. from CHANDLER, AZ:
This boot runs a bit large. I usually wear an 8.5 - but this is a bit wide and long. I usually put a foam innersole into my MC boots, so that's what I did and they fit great. They are a bit taller than I am used to, by about an inch and a half, but I think that will actually be better for riding. My only complaint is that the sole is not grippy enough. I will wear these soles down, and then get them re soled with a vibram, oil resistant, heel and half sole. Overall, I am very happy with the boots and think that once they get broken in (about 5,000 miles) we should be good for at least 10 years. That's how long my last pair of boots lasted and I expect these will too.

Fit really well - I usually take a 41, but the 40 fits perfectly. Good solid boot for riding, and really comfortable for walking in - have worn them a lot as normal boots also (great in cold/wet weather!) Good price - even considering postage overseas.

I have read everyone else's review regarding what size to purchase. Do not listen and go a smaller size (7), boot all around was too small;either go with your normal size, (mine 7.5) which was a little tight in the toe area, so I returned a third time and ordered a (8.0). Still fit a little better but was too loose in the heel area. I just could not get the size right. Hope this helps, boot is really cute, it just did not work out for me.

I love the look of these boots. Went with my regular size 7. Fit fine. Do have trouble getting them on. There is a bit of a "lip" by the heal that's annoying. Hoping they just need time to break in. It's been many years since I had a new pair of leather boots. Not incredibly comfortable, but for the money they are good.

These boots, Engineer Biker, DO NOT RUN BIG!! I read the reviews, which I normally take with a grain of salt, but this time I read so many saying they run big that I ordered a 1/2 size smaller. What a mistake! They are true to size unless there is a quality control issue with the manufacturer and I doubt it. The construction looks good. So I'm sure that the size issue is those unfamiliar with proper shoe sizing. Kinda like the chic who thinks she's a 4 when she's really a size 8!

I really adore these boots but I won't lie - getting the fit right was really hard for me , so maybe I can help someone else . I normally take an 8.5 in shoes and boots but where some reviews said they ran large , others said they were true to size so I ordered my usual size . They were HUGE ! My heal didn't come close to the back . I finally settled on the size 7 and even those are a bit big but I didn't want to go any smaller because I want to put insoles in them . I know now that the problem is that I have very narrow/thin feet , so please consider this when ordering . They are super comfy once you find the right size , but if you've got feet like mine , size down at least 1.5 sizes .

Susie P. from CLARKSBURG, MD:
Okay, I found a lot of these reviews confusing, so maybe I can set it straight. I am slightly over 5'3" and have very thick calves. Not necessarily muscled, just naturally thick. Tall boots are always a problem for me and these are no exception. They shipped fast, but they are too tall and rub my leg. I also ordered 8.5, which is my normal shoe size. I find them to be a little too tight, even with a thin sock and i don't think they will stretch enough to be comfortable. If your feet swell like mine do, then order half a size up and if you have big calves, you might want to look for a shorter shaft. Wanted to love them, and they appear to be good quality and sturdy, but just don't work for me.

These boots are a good quality product. The only concern I have is that the toe of the boot is thick and it is a tight fit when trying to change gears. Otherwise, a great boot. Also, it does run about one size larger than I normally wear and I had to exchange them for a different size.

I really like the look of these boots, but be warned, they are VERY wide. A little clunky on my narrow foot, but I've gotten LOTS of compliments on them. I haven't walked any great distance in them yet. I'll probably put some insoles in them before I do. Excellent quality, though. Definitely a great buy for the money.

CAGE A. from HOPKINS, SC:
I purchased these for my wife in a size 7.5 based on the reviews of the boot running a bit large. They were too small. So we exchanged them (with no problem) for her size (8) and they are perfect. She loves the style and the fit. NOTE: When rating items to wear please state the size YOU wear versus the size you purchased as some footwear and garments fit differently from size to size. This would be EXTREMELY more helpful in the majority of the reviews here.

Wendy A. from Madison, WI:
Excellent quality boot. Perfect height for wearing with knee-length black jeans skirt. I ordered one size down, but due to the width and extremely high toe box, could have ordered two sizes down. But that would have made my feet look too short and fat. I'll put in thick felt insoles so my feet don't swim around in them.
