| I took my motorcycle class this past August, got my license and bought a used bike by December. I accidentally ran across this website. I liked the products, unfortunately too many items I selected were sold out in medium. I finally got this one jacket and I'm super happy with it. I went by the size chart. I almost went with large only because so many recommended it. But I held my breath and got the medium. Not to offend anyone but I've noted that many bikers have really big guts and perhaps that is why they go with a larger size. I'm 52 years old, 6 foot, 180 lbs. flat abs only because I run and go to the gym. I was so pleased with the product that I ordered a rain suit and saddle bags. I can't say enough good things about the items and Leather Up. Almost forgot, I exhausted all the other websites and Leather Up could not be beat! |

| I am 6 ft., 220 lbs. Ordered the XL and it fit very well. Snug with the liner in and perfect without the liner. Good quality. I plan to wear this on cool days with the liner and warm days without the liner. If you want to wear the jacket during very cold weather, you might order a size up to accomodate extra clothing that might be worn underneath. |

| Great jacket but the sizes are a bit different. I just got this jacket and it seems great. Well worth the price and a great fit. Speaking of fit.... I am 5'8" tall and weigh 185 pounds. normally I would wear a medium or more often a large. The other reviews said the jacket runs small so I ordered an extra large and it is perfect. It's hard to believe how good it looks and the adjustments on the waist, sleeves, and chest all are perfect for making it just tight enough. The wrist closures shut those too. I have yet to ride with it so I will revise it when the weather in New England gets above freezing- probably in May! It is nice not to have a bunch of gaudy labels on it as I don't care to advertise for anyone. |

| You cant beat this for the money, I had one that I got in a bad accident, and it did a great job of protecting me, and it did not even rip or anything in a 45 MPH crash, the only reason I got another one to replace it, was because I lost a lot of weight, and the other one was too big, one thing, you might want to go a size up from your regular size, as they run a little small |

| I'm 5'10", 175#'s, about a 34 waist, 46 chest, and normally wear a 34/35 sleeve. I chose the large size and it fits PERFECT. Almost like it was a custom made jacket. The padding is top notch and the jacket is rather heavy due to the removable liner and padding. Excellent quality that is comparable to similar jackets costing double or triple the price. Mine didn't come with the distracting patch on the sleeve, which made it an even better looking jacket. Highly recommended. Get yours before they realize they got a winner on their hands and raise the price. |

| I'm a 6'-2", 175lbs male. The size large mesh jacket has been great, so far. Riding with a tee shirt & jacket without the liner feels as cool as with tee shirt alone. Armor makes me feel much safer. If the back plate start heating me up, I can just shift position slightly and get air to go under it! |

Curtis F. from BIRMINGHAM, AL: |
| Great jacket. First of all, one of the top issues seems to be fit and what size to get. I reviewed the size chart and realize that I fell somewhere between the XL and 2XL - chest is 47" and I have a 34" waist. Knowing that I like a snug - not tight - fit while riding, I went with the XL and it fits perfectly with or without the zip-out liner. The adjustable Velcro waist tabs cinch it up nicely. Likewise, the adjautable tabs near the chest give a tailored, almost custom fit. The shoulder, back and elbow armor is in perfect position. Sleeve length is perfect (typically wear a 35" dress shirt sleeve, but these are slightly longer to compensate for the riding position), as it the overall length of the jacket back and front.
The zippers appear to be rugged and heavy-duty and operate flawlessly. The liner is easy to zip in and out and secures at the wrist with snaps. Although extremely warm right now (highs over 100-degrees), the mesh jacket has great airflow. I haven't riden with the liner in for the obvious reason stated above, but in cooler months it could very well make this a legitimate 3-season jacket. The photo shows an oval logo on the sleeve - mine did not have it and I'm not heart-broken about it. While it is a tasteful logo and not some obnoxious in-your-face thing, I'm not really a logo guy and prefer a clean uncluttered look. Had it been on, I'd have removed it. The jacket does have a bit of reflective piping on the back below the collar. Again - tastefully done.
While price was not the largest determining factor in my purchase, it was a consideration. Including shipping it was a few bucks under $80 and for the fit and apparent quality, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better value. I went to several bike shops and tried on/checked out numerous other, more expensive models/brands of similar style and protection and I just could not find a reason to warrant paying 2 or 3 times what this jacket cost.
Great fit, great quality and style, protection, exceptional value, quick shipping (less than 4 days coast to coast, including a holiday). What more cousl you ask for? Extremely satisfied. Highly recommend. |

| Fits like a glove. I ride a Victory and enjoy the cruiser look but I'm not into leather so much. This jacket is awesome, comfortable in hot or cold weather and I get compliments on it constantly. The armor looks cool IMO. I cruise with the jacket and just an undershirt and I have been comfortable on the freeway in 50 degree weather going 70mph and have worn when its in the 90's and I don't over heat. Excellent jacket for the price. Fits to size. |

| I am very pleased with this jacket. I live in south Georgia and it gets very hot and humid in the summer. This jacket allows the air to move through the exterior material, and actually keeps you quite cool when moving. If someone is looking for a lightweight, armored jacket for hot weather riding, look no further. And yes....order one size up. |

| I bought this jacket ~18 months ago and have been wearing it since in all seasons. I'm prompted to write this review because of an accident I had 11/21/11. A car pulled out in front of me while I was doing 35-40mph. I ended up exiting the bike onto the roadway with the bike landing on my left lower leg and ankle. I'm still recovering (12/24/11) from the ankle injuries but my upper body sustained ZERO injuries. Above the waist I had no scratches or bruises whatsoever ... just as if I never had the accident. I swear by this jacket (comfortable except when stopped on a hot day ... OK in motion) for its comfort but mostly for its proven protection. Thank you X-Element. |

| This jacket fitted perfect on me and this jacket will be used for riding in Hawaii when I move there. I did have to buy the xx size even though I wear XL and since I'm a body builder the arms section fix is ok even with my 20 inch arm. It is just a little tight when bending over in a sport bike riding position. I'm 5' 9" tall and I weight 212 lbs. I hope this will help someone who wants a summer riding jacket. The jacket looks good and for the price you can't beat it. |

Michael R. from JACKSONVILLE, NC: |
| This jacket is great, but isn't as versatile as I was hoping for. The jacket is advertised as waterproof; being entirely out of a mesh material, I expected the liner to at least be waterproof, but it isn't either. That's really my only issue. It's definitely more of a summer jacket. It gets pretty cold here in North Carolina, so I'll resort to my leather jacket once it gets colder. It has unreal ventilation, and I feel a lot more protected when I wear it, but the liner will only allow you to ride comfortably with just a T-shirt underneath in maybe 60 degrees minimum, then you have to layer it up.
I bought a Small and it's fine for me. I'm 5'6" and just 130 lbs. |

John O. from Brooklyn, NY: |
| Let's start off by saying that I am 5' 10 "ft tall 188 ibs and the XL was a perfect fit so I'm happy I followed the recommendation of others to go a size up. This is definitely a stylish jacket and the padding is quite sturdy but not too heavy... The jacket breathes beautifully however it can get a little hot in stopped traffic however when you start moving it vents very nicely.... I removed the reflective logo patch on each shoulder (which is not pictured ) with an exacto knife in under 5 mins !!!! ... I ride a Suzuki c50 cruiser so I didn't like the logo advertisement on the shoulders and I wanted to preserve that "cruiser-look". I used the jacket on the recent heat wave in NYC (85-100 degrees) very comfortably... Would definitely recommend as summer/fall jacket at a great price.... Leatherup is simply the best |

| This is a great jacket for the money! Very comfortable with good airflow while riding. It has just enough weight to it to let you know it is there and feels as though it will perform if needed (knock on wood). The quality of the materials and finish is excellent. I'm 6' and 185lbs and the XL fits perfect. The adjustable arm and waist straps allow for a custom fit without the straps flopping around. The only area this jacket is lacking in is night time reflection. The only reflective piping is found on the back edge of the collar (see pictures). If you wear a back pack it may not be visible at all. Aside from the reflective piping this is a great jacket at a great price. I'm glad I waited for Leatherup to re-stock! |

| I am really happy with the jacket. I actually don't mind the patches on the shoulders. Good reflectors at night. The jacket fits perfect. I'm 5-8 230lbs and I workout so the 2xl fit perfect. The liner worked well in the morning in 60 deg and removed it in the afternoon while in the 90's. The jacket breathes great allowing for plenty of cooling at speed. I am very happy with the jacket and would recommend it to anyone. Most importantly it's hard to beat for 70 bucks. |

| This jacket is pretty nice for the money but I don't know that I would buy it again. I bought the Xelement CF-509 a few months back because this one was out of stock. The CF-509 Medium ran small like most of the reviews on this sight say. When this jacket became available I immediately bought it. To my surprise, the medium in this jacket is actually more like a large. One of the buttons that snaps in the sleeve on the liner popped off the second time I took it out. The liner isn't much of a help on chilly mornings—a hoodie or a regular fleece under the jacket does a much better job. It's as cool as a full armored jacket can get for summer riding in 85 degree weather though but I still think the CF-509 has better ventilation. Hope that helps. |

| After recently purchasing a Victory Vegas and never having been on longer rides, I didn't know what to to expect out of jackets on long rides. I do have a nice leather jacket and chaps (life savers), but I wanted something for shorter rides. After I received the Xelement jacket I was pleasantly surprised. It was exactly what I was looking for. I am on the border between large to x-large, went with the xl and I am glad, fits good with a T-shirt and there's room for more clothing. Very happy with the purchase! |

| This jacket arrived very quickly and is surprisingly well made. The pics here dont show, but it arrived with 2 small patches, one on each shoulder, but could be removed. They are grey and reflective and small, so i kept them. The jacked is VERY breatheable - imagine wearing 2-3 old school football practice jerseys when you ride. Absolutely amazing for hot summer rides. only downside - the removable lining does not provide much warmth. Understand that you are considering a summer jacket only. Otherwise you will really need to layer up. I am 6'1" 205 and wear a 44 long. the XL fits snug, but amazing. If you want more room - definatley size up. Jacket is very dark, not washed out like the photos. Incredibly comfortable, great looking, fraction of comparable cost. I am VERY happy with this website and the jacket. |

| Nice jacket and it does everything you'd expect. It has good armoring, it has good ventillation, the liner improves the warmth significantly and it has enough snaps and velcro closures to assure a good fit...but I was really glad I went a size larger than normal!
I've had this jacket for over a month of mixed Michigan Spring weather and ridden over 500 miles with it. It was cool enough with the liner out at 80 degrees (as long as you keep moving) because of the mesh construction that allows air to filter right through and it was warm enough with the liner in when the temp dropped below 45 degrees (although I found I preferred wearing a sweater or heavy shirt underneath as an additional layer.)
I think the description should mention that it comes with a fairly large "Xelement" patch on each shoulder so don't be misled by the photos.
I decided not to cut mine off because they are made of a reflective material like scotchlite and I favor visibility over esthetics.
The armor in this jacket seems substantial so I don't wear leather at all. For me this is the "all purpose" jacket since I don't ride when the weather gets too cold anyway. |
