Louis H. from Rockford, MI:
excellent jacket for the price.of heavy leather. but , like the reviews say, order larger than normal. I am 6' 7" 280lbs. normally I wear 2x ordered 4x, fits like a glove but like others have said the sleeves are a little tight. the solution is to leave them unzipped. I will buy from leatherup for all my leather needs

Bought this after seeing my brother-in-law's. It's heavy, good quality, looks good. The real deal. Took it out in the cool weather a few nights ago and it offers very good protection. I ordered mine a little big to allow for layering up because I ride in the winter, and the fit is right.

Joseph P. from LIVE OAK, FL:
Jacket is heavy and looks to be great quality material but sizing is NOT good. I read and read the reviews but found noone similar to my size so I did what was suggested and ordered up. Im 64 320ish lbs and generally wear 3xl long. Going by the chart and my chest and belly I felt 6x was my best bet. Front and back length are great but sleeves must be for Neanderthals. Catch on the handle bars nearly a dangerous condition and the sleeves are to thin in the forearm. Price would have been great but with the ammending that will be required for me to wear, its not so great. Sleeves will be cut for length and the material will need to be cut into biscuits to add in the seam of the arm. Also elbow armor is nearly at the wrist. I really hoped to give this purchase a good review but I cannot. Yes I am a large guy but not abnormal and Im not sure who or how this jacket could fit anyone as/is.

I'm so grateful that I ordered this jacket for my brother. He was recently in a motorcycle accident, his jacket is ruined, but it saved him from a lot of serious injuries. Two fractured knees and only a scratch on his back. I will definitely be recommending this company.

Russell C. from MEXICO, NY:
My review is going to be very mixed. First I want to state that this jacket appears to be very well made and looks great. The zippers don't feel as high quality as those on a couple of other jackets I have, but this jacket only cost one third as much. The zippers may be fine in the long run, only time will tell. The leather seems to be heavy enough and of a quality that looks very good. No ugly blemishes, Everything about the looks and feel of quality make this jacket seem like a smoking deal, the problem lies in the fit. These jackets run VERY small and the sleeves are cut for extremely slender arms. I ordered one size up based on other reviews and have found that I should have ordered two sizes up. I don't yet know what the return policy is, but anticiapte that added shipping costs for the excahnge are going to diminish the value pricing. Should you order two sizes up? I don't know, I certainly didn't think I'd need to and therein lies the hazard of online shopping.

jacket fits well however the sleeves are too long and I will have to pay to have them shortened, the zip out liner was junk I went to remove it and at the top of the liner someone sewed it in with teeth missing and I was unable to get it out. the jacket is nice overall but disappointed in the zip out liner a word of warning if you purchase this jacket check the zipper on the liner first before you take the tags off

This jacket is well worth the money, be sure to order 1 size larger than you normally would. The sleeves on the forearm are small and that is the only issue I had with the coat. VERY warm! Great quality leather, very soft and pliable.

This is a serious piece of equipment. Rugged and protective, this jacket is a stylish piece that wears well for many occasions. The snug fit looks good with dress pants as wel as jeans. The "Order a si size up" advice found in other reviews is a great piece of advice.

Hannah G. from Lusby, MD:
Hubby liked this jacket as soon as he saw it, but ordering online is a gamble with getting a good fit. I read other reviews about the jacket running small, but the price was right so we took a gamble. Hubs is 6ft tall, 250 lbs with a long torso (and a bit of a beer belly); typically, he wears a XL Tall.. I ordered the 4X and it fits perfectly! The arm length is generous, and he has room for a sweatshirt underneath, if needed. He was VERY HAPPY! Heavy leather, not the thin stuff. Quilted removable lining is nice. Fast shipping - I ordered this on a Friday night and it arrived Monday. I took the free shipping option and was pleasantly surprised. OVERALL, IT'S A GOOD DEAL!!

This is one amazing jacket! Warm with nice features including vents and gun pocket. I am 5' 11" and 220 lbs and I ordered a 2XL and it fits me perfectly. I was hesitant to go this big as my old riding jacket is a size large. After reading the reviews and finding people my height and weight I swallowed hard and did it. I'm glad I followed other buyer's advice. Buy this product, you will not be disappointed!

Thomas H. from HADLEY, MA:
This is a great jacket. It's warm, durable, looks great, and pretty much exactly what I wanted. Getting the right size for you in an online order is the biggest hurdle, tho, but it worked well for me. I'm 5' 9", 140 lbs, and have a slim build. I ordered a Small, and it was the right choice. The length and chest measurements are perfect. When I first got it the arms, especially the forearms, felt tight, and I have pretty thin arms. But over time they've loosened up a bit. It is a snug fit, as any motorcycle jacket will be. But for slim folks who are around 5' 9", getting a small is fine.

Steven A. from COLORADO SPGS, CO:
I received the Jacket in a timely manner, especially considering it was around Christmas time. I followed some of the other reviews and went with a size bigger and was glad that I did. The jacket has a zip out liner and I found that when wearing a long sleeve shirt it makes for a tight fit in the sleeves of the jacket. Not sure if that will change over time as it has a chance to beak in some. Other than that it is a very fine product and I would recommend it to anybody.

Tom H. from Seward, NE:
I wanted to wait till I had put some miles on the bike wearing this coat before I rated it I've ridden more than 5000 miles wearing this coat. It has held up very well. The fit is great. I wear a XXL shirt and had tried on this coat in XXL. I ordered a 4X size and it fits great. I put pull tabs on the zippers so I could grab them with gloves on. The wrist zippers can be left unzipped when it is hot which allows air up the sleeves. The zippered vents on the front and back do allow some air through the coat (when not using the liner) but they don't move as much as I would like. The sleeves on the 4X seemed to be too long at first but I found the longer sleeves allow them to be pulled down over my gloves when it is really cold and keeps the cold air out. The leather is thick but is still allows a lot of flexibility. It is airtight and all the bugs and other stuff that have hit me don't bother me a bit. I've had coats that cost three times as much as this coat and they weren't as good as this one. Great coat and if I ever wear this one out, I'll absolutely get another. I highly recommend this coat. But remember you might need to order one or even two sizes larger than your shirt size.

Great price for a great jacket. I ordered a 2XL and it fits perfect. If it was any smaller it would be too small. I'm 5'11" 190 lbs. I wear 36" waist x32 long jeans. My shirts are 16 1/2" neck, 34/35" sleeves. If you're my size and plan to wear a heavy vest and shirt you might get a 3XL. However, the sleeves may be a little too long on a 3XL.

What a great Jacket!! I wore it this morning. It was 50 degrees with a 15 mile an hour wind, didn't get even a bit cold. The leather is the best I've seen and very comfortable. Definatley get a size bigger than you would wear. I would highly reccommend this jacket to anyone!!

Rick T. from MARS HILL, NC:
I love the jacket, good heavy leather that lets you know it's there without being so bulky to prevent movement. Good ventilation when I'm riding. The only negative thing that I can say is Leatherup's sizing. Everyone said order one size up, so I did. I couldn't zip it up. Had to return and go an additional 2 sizes up (3 sizes total.) then I had to pay to return. It would of been nice to have proper sizes listed or at the very least have return shipping one time due to the bad sizing charts. Other then the cost of returning, I love the jacket and the service in the return was great.

Mike R. from MENA, AR:
I ordered this jacket after reading the review on size. I saw that it ran small so I ordered a 3x. I usually wear a xl. I wanted to be able to wear layers under it. It fits ok through the body, but the 3xl size has the sleeves about 4 inches too long. I will probably go by a leather shop and have it modified. I couldn't get my gloves over the sleeves because of the length. Also the arms are tight (diameter of the sleeve). If you work out at all you will probably find it tight. this will limit what I will be able to wear under it. To me the sleeve size (diameter) is the biggest issue. So be aware that the jackets do not just "run small" the sleeves may also cause an issue. But, I do like the jacket otherwise.

William B. from KEENE, NH:
I LOVE the X-Element products. However, the sizing information is very confusing to me and I had to exchange items a minimum of two times, sometimes more. Once I received the jacket that mostly fit me I was delighted. On the day I tried to remove the liner (which is very important component for me to have) the zipper would not move beyond a certain point because the jacket side of it was recessed too far to get beyond that point. I had to force it apart and there is no way to get it to work properly so I simply resigned myself to not have a liner because I do not want to ship the item back yet again. I reiterate, I love the jacket. I live in New England and rise until I can't. It keeps me warm and real good looking. Please make a better size assessment tool and check those zippers!

This is by far a quality motorcycle jacket. The workmanship looks excellent and the leather used is very nice. I was kind of concerned about what size to order so I went with the large and it fits me very well, like it was taylor made. I am 5' 8" tall, 42-44 chest, with a 33-34 waist. So if you are the same size the large is your fit. I will order again as needed in the future from Leatherup. Thank you... :-)

This jacket is awesome. I actually got it almost 2 years ago and have since purchased boots, chaps and leather pants from leatherup.com. Only complaint about the jacket is that I wish it didn't still look so new! Can't seem to make it look worn...haha! Great company, outstanding customer service, well made durable products at unmatched prices!

Derek H. from CORINTH, TX:
I'm glad I read all the reviews before I ordered my jacket. Several recommended buying 1 size larger and I'm glad I did because the 3XL jacket fits my 2XL frame perfectly. This is a well made jacket, thick and with pockets in all the right places although the concealed carry pocket is a tight fit for my double stack .45. I haven't had a chance to wear it in cold weather yet since it's still 90 degrees out and mid-October but it eventually gets cold here in Texas so I look forward to trying it out then. All-in-all this jacket is well made for the price and take it from me, you won't go wrong buying one.

Sherman D. from OAKLAND, MI:
BEWARE, Jackets run real small. I contacted leather up prior to purchasing this jacket due to all the warnings that they run small. I told the support person my height 5-11, my weight 185LB, and my chest size 44 and was told a large should work just fine. I could barely get my armes into the sleeves and was unable to zip up the jacket. I ended up returning that jacket at a $17 cost and ordering a 2XL, while it fits decent, its fit is not form fitting. I am a 63 year old retiree who wears a 1-34 shirt and my arms aren't real muscular. Truth is, I don't think I could get my arms in the sleeves if I were wearing a sweatshirt or sweater over a long sleeve shirt and the sleeves on the 2XL are so long they come down to the middle of my palms. If you have big arms and a slender body, I don't feel this jacket will work for you. BTW, I did find out that the SIZING CHART is for the OUTSIDE DIMENSIONS OF THE JACKET ss the 54" measurement for the 2XL is an OUTSIDE MEASUREMENT with the jacket itself actually being what is considered a 46" Chest in AMERICAN SIZING

As always, you go with the sizing chart and it's too small, then you'll spend another 50% of the cost to return it to get the right one, and have to wait 3 weeks for it to get to you. As for fit and comfort, not too bad.

Fantastic bargain. Most durable cow hide ever. Thick and sturdy feeling. Needs armor but that is my project anyway as I want CE2 and I want it placed exactly where need it to be. This is the first 4X size I have ever puirchased and this coat fits well. Admittedly, at 260 pounds and 5'11" and 72 years old this puppy needs to be special. It is.

Very nice heavy leather jacket. Only problem is sleves are very large at wrists? Zip up and you can still remove jaclet. Lets lots of air up arms. Installed snaps on cuffs to make tighter. Don't look the greatest, but it works so I can use jacket. Would have returned except iot fits great other than that.

JIM T. from WEYMOUTH, MA:
The jacket looks good, seems tough enough, two minor issues. One: I have the large size and the sleeves are longer than my other large jackets extending beyond the wrist to the base of my thumb and 2. When sitting on the bike the chest blouses up. No other large jacket or leather shirt that I purchased from leather up fits like this. The blousing may cure itself with wear but the sleeve length cannot be rectified. Time will tell if this was a mistake.

Jeffrey R. from WILMINGTON, IL:
Very nice jacket. Good quality leather and zippers. Does very well keeping the wind out. The extra padding in the lower back helps keep the jackets form while riding. As others have said ordering up is essential. I'm 160 lbs and 5'9" and normally a fitted jacket would be a size medium, I went with a large. Fits very nice and can get a light hooded sweatshirt underneath. I stress light. Probably could remove the zip out liner and fit a heavier hoody underneath on the colder days in Illinois. I have noticed the jacket is a little stiff and should loosen up as it's worn. The sleeves tend to be a little long which others have stated. Not a big deal except occasionally gets hung up on the end of the handlebars.

I am glad I took the advice to buy it and to order at least one size bigger than I usually wear.. It is warming up down here and I am hoping the vents workout well..

The jacket looks and feels great. Very comfortable and the vents allow it to breath well so you don't get overly hot on summer rides. It shipped fast and arrived on time. My only complaint and reason I didn't give the jacket five stars is the pocket for your weapon is rather large which makes drawing your weapon pretty awkward and takes away from the concealment factor.
