Todd G. from COLORADO SPGS, CO:
Great price for this product. And LeatherUp had them here in only a few fays.I have shopped many places, and this is by far the best deal I have found. Leather is decent quality. Only criticism is that they are very slim in the legs. I am 5-11, 195lbs and athletic build with 32" waist. I followed the advice of others and bought 1 size up in the waist. Size 34 works great in the waist, but the legs are very very tight. I will keep them and likely remove the liner. Just be aware. Overall, I absolutely thi k this is a great buy! Todd

I purchased a size 36 they were a bit to tight around the thighs so I returned them for a size 38 they were to big around the waist But with the extra holes on the back I relaced them had to cut about 2 inches off the belt and had a guy here in town stich up the end so it wouldn't fray out on the end.I had no issues with returning them.I would for sure purchase from Leather-Up in the future.

I really like these chaps, the way they fit, look, feel. the only problem I have with them is the way they zip up the leg on the outside, I had to figure out how to zip them up by myself, but I did it. I tell all my friends about yall

Great chaps and I love the deep front pockets. Without them you always had to undue your chaps in front of the gas station attendants to get to any money in your jean front pockets. problem solved.

Excellent chaps, I originally ordered a smaller size because my size was not in stock-don't do that, they run very tight in the thighs. Once I got the larger pair I really like them, great protection!

This is the 2nd pair of Chaps I have ordered. I returned the first (size 34) because the thighs were too tight, even with the liner removed. I waited for a year to order the recent pair (due to availability) in a size 38 after measuring my thigh as instructed. The chaps I received are TOO BIG in the thigh, even though there is only a 1 inch increase is size. I am returning these also, and will probably shop for a pair locally, even though I'll probably end up paying twice the price. I don't know why there was such a great difference in the size in the thigh area.

Well made, very warm, and they look good. They came highly recommended by a friend and now myself; you can't go wrong.... The only issue I had, was the width around the knees was tight. When I knelt down, the leather was tight and would cause discomfort. I've wore them right out of the box for a few hours around the house. I've been wearing them everyday and I've noticed they have loosened up and fit well now. Perfect length, and waist. 6'00" 33-34 waist. I ordered the 34's.

Jeffrey H. from WHITESBORO, TX:
I love the chaps, they arrived much faster than i anticipated! The waist fits great ..however the "comfort thigh" that is supposed to stretch is kinda a joke; this is due to the fact that the inner liner (when attached) "Does NOT stretch" like advertised. That was one of the big sellers for me, as i have large thighs. The 3/4 zipper is of good quality and the snaps held the last 1/4 closed at 65mph in the rain and wind. 85mph in ideal weather. They kept me mostly dry...after i baked the chaps @ 175°f for 15 minutes i applied a generous layer of mink oil, after that....i stayed dry as a bone. I would over all give these a 4 1/2 star rating.....the thighs in the chaps need a little more stretch. ...fix that ...and they would qualify for me in the 6 star range!

Pleased with purchase fit was good and I ordered the proper size without getting a larger or smaller size than I needed however if you have heavy thighs for your waist size buy a size up. The waist will adjust. They are doing the job of keeping my legs warm in PA weather. Would buy again.

Michael K. from MOUNT JULIET, TN:
Great chaps. For size reference; I'm 5'-11", 180 lbs. 34" waist and 32-34" inseam. Based on reviews, I ordered a 38" (2 sizes up) and they fit great. I was a bit concerned about the waist being too big but there are plenty of notches on the belt. First time I wore them was for a short day ride (about 2-3 hrs) in 70 degree weather. I wore them over jeans without the liner. Fit great and very comfortable. I could see where wearing the chaps with the liner over jeans could be a bit snug but think they'll stretch out perfectly. I'd recommend these.

I also got a size bigger and glad I did. If you're like me and wear loose fits jeans they feel a little uncomfortable, but they work fine with regular fit. fit jeans. Last weekend it was 38 when I left the house and even with out the zip in liner they worked great.

These chaps are great. Thick and heavy. I probably should of bought one size larger I'm 5'10" 160 lbs with a 30 inch wast and I order a size 30 and they are somewhat snug but with some wear I'm sure they will stretch out some. This is the second pair I purchased from leather up and I am not disappointed.

Richard L. from LEXINGTON PK, MD:
I have to agree with all the reviews. These chaps are a great value and exceptional quality. I've worn them in 45 degree weather in rain riding at 65 to 70 mph and although the water penetrated the leather and I got wet underneath, I was warm and comfortable. The fit was a little tricky. I bought the exact size based on the chart and my measurements . . . .. and they fit tight, but not uncomfortable. Now that I've worn them for a year, they have become a perfect fit and actually look better as they have aged. I especially love the dual pockets.

I could not rate "durability" since I have had this item for a couple of weeks. These Chaps are much better than higher costing Chaps I looked at locally. My waist is a 38 but I had to purchase size 44 for the thigh measurement.

I was looking for chaps for my husband. Didn't want to spend a hole lot, because I wasn't certain he would actually use them. So when I found these I was excited. When I ordered them wasn't to sure for the price how good the quality would be? But let me tell you what I definitely would buy them again and will recommend them to anyone. I will shop here again, probably A Lot!! They showed up way earlier than expected and they look good and he actually wears them way more than I could have hoped for. So I'm very pleased with how well they are made and the price is unbelievable. I'm so glad I found you guys and you had what I was looking for. Thank you

Jim F. from HIDDEN VL LK, CA:
The value of these chaps is as advertised. That said, the sizing in the thighs doesn't match usual US size ratios for waist to leg. I wear a 38 Levi and was glad that I ordered a 42 as I barely fit into the legs with jeans on. It also means that I have to use the last belt hole and even then the waist is still too big. If they remedy the fit issues, I'd give it 5 stars throughout.

I received these about 2 weeks ago and have been riding with them in 35 - 42 degree weather and they are very warm. I made all my measurements sitting with the jeans on i was going to wear under them and looked up those measurements on the size chart and picked the corresponding size, which was 2 sizes larger than the jeans i wear. (i wear 34's ordered 38). It work perfectly. Thanks Leatherup for this great value and I will definitely be ordering from you again in the future.

Jim R. from MANISTEE, MI:
I wear 34 x 30 jeans. After reading the reviews I ordered a 36. I was hoping they would fit as I'm heading north on a ride- unfortunately they didn't. I took out the liner and I still couldn't get them completely zipped up even with the help of my wife. I'm 5'-9" and weigh 188lbs. Definitely order 2 sizes bigger (34 in jeans order 38) maybe bigger - I have to return these for a refund and go get something much more expensive locally for my trip. LeatherUp to their credit has always done me right on returns - a great place to by but the sizes charts are useless.

Bought a pair for both my wife & I. These things are perfect. We both love them. BE SURE to read the reviews and take the advice of the other buyers. Be sure to order ones that are much bigger than you would normally buy. I wear a 33/34 waist jean size. I had to go with a size 38 to be comfortable. I have not read 1 persons review saying that their chaps were shipped too big. They are always way too small. Be safe and enjoy the wintery months. Shiny side up!!!

August 5,2014 Maggie I. from Hart, MI Purchased these chaps for the husband. He was real leery because of the price. He really likes them and always wears them. He wears 31x32 and the 32's fit him perfect. Also ordered the low cut for myself and absolutely love them. We were so pleased with both pairs of chaps that we also ordered luggage, which just now arrived and is also awesome. Thank you Xelement for making such GREAT products and Leather Up for making them affordable. Will be ordering A LOT more from them.

Like others have mentioned, size of the chaps is the only issue. I've a 36 inch waist, ordered that size but thigh room was too tight, and I am of average thigh size. Sent the chaps back with a request for 40" waist size. Leatherup customer service did their usual excellent job. Got the replacement chaps, fit well but just enough.

Great product. Fit is a bit on the snug side I wear a 38 but needed to order a 44 befor the legs would zip. I do not like leather up there customer service leaves much to be desired. Ordered end of may received in over 2 weeks did not fit exchange took almost 10 business days after they signed for the return then 2 more weeks... July is not the month I needed them for but like the product. I hate leather up and will not order again from them neither will my buddies they ordered from hot leathers after I got the first pair and had there's sooner and correct the first time... Sorry leather up you lost quite a few customers to Hot Leathers. Get bent!

I ordered by others suggestions to upsize 2 sizes, and had to return and get my standard size. The return was painless, the replacement came as fast as the original order. These chaps are a fantastic fit, and are a great value for the money. I am sure they will be plenty warm when the temperature starts dropping this fall.

First, these are some heavy duty chaps featuring thick pliable leather and adequate insulating liners. I wear a size 34 pants and went with a 38. They are still pretty snug, but I think they are going to be just right after putting some miles on them. Excellent value for the dollar.

These chaps are very nice and very thick. Only reason I marked the fit rating down at all is because by the fitting chart I should have been okay with a 34" but ordered one size up due to other reviews on here referring to size being too small. So I ordered a 36" but still had to return due to tightness in thighs and calves for a 38". LeatherUp did a quick turn around though so all is good and the chaps are very nice. Would highly recommend but order a minimum of one if not two sizes up.

Rating this only wearing once. I agree with most reviews that the thigh is the most important measurement. I measured my thighs at 0.5" smalller than the measurament I ordered and they are pretty snug. I am hoping they losen up and stretch. The quality is amazing and the price is close to half of what I see at local bike shops. Definitely will come here for my next leather purchase.

I had to go up from my 34" waist to a 38" to get it to zip over my calves. Luckily the waist was adjustable to compensate. Now I can comfortably ride in temps down to the high 20's(F) in nothing but jeans and my new chaps on my legs. Soft, pliable, and with whays appears to be pretty durable hardware they were a very good purchase in my estimation.

These are the first motorcycle chaps I have ever owned. Heavy quality, durable leather, smooth operating zippers and solid snaps. There is no reason to pay $300 for chaps. I've made runs at 35 degrees at 65MPH in these chaps and there were no cold spots. I've ridden in these through the rain too, the chaps get wet, you don't! Make no mistake, these are not lightweight like leather pants, they are heavy, durable cowhide leather. They will need broken in like boots or gloves, but are built to protect you from the elements, road debris, etc.

Sean H. from STOUGHTON, WI:
Good quality chaps at a great price. Like the versatility of having a removable insulating liner. Have kept me warm when riding in the high 30's to 40s (have no faring on my VTX 1300S). Do order by your thigh measurement as this is the most critical measurement of all. You can trim the length to fit your inseam and between the belt holes and back lacing, the waist is easily adjusted. I have a 26" thigh, 36" waist, and 30" inseam. I ordered size 40 and although the thigh was still a bit snug, that has loosened up after a few rides and they are now quite comfortable. Leather was easy to cut with a sharp pair of scissors. If you need to trim off any excess length as I did, set a straightedge across the bottom of the chaps at the proper level, then use masking tape to mark the line. This makes it super easy to cut along the bottom of the tape and get a nice straight cut. Have to say that with all of the comments about the snugness of the thigh, am very surprised the manufacturer has not altered this portion of the chaps to make them roomier. Are you listening, Xelement?
